Peace in Christ.
There are 2 resurrections….one for those Christians who have “fallen asleep” in mortal death (without knowing the truth of the gospel)….and one for the chosen few who shall hear the word of truth ….the good news of their mortal salvation…. and believe in it.
Those who have mortally died and are dying have not heard the gospel of truth from their "preachers". They are being deceived from the Way of righteousness that leads to life...an age-lasting life to be had in the here-and-now and are being led down the broad way to the destruction of their mortal bodies.
Eph 1:13 KJV
(13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
But, those who have mortally died (fallen “asleep”) and are dying shall be resurrected AT the last day of this age when death (the last enemy) is defeated. The last enemy to be destroyed is death…..and then the very end of this age comes.
The end of this age comes when the Son will have delivered up the kingdom to God AFTER He rules and puts down all rule and all authority and all power. Those believers of Christ who had not heard the gospel of truth shall then be resurrected at the final defeat of death....the last enemy.
1Co 15:24-26 KJV
(24) Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
(25) For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
(26) The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
But those who hear the truth of the gospel and believe in it shall be made alive NOW in their mortal bodies. They shall never die…living throughout the age to the very end of it.
John 11:26
Literal Standard Version
and everyone who is living and believing in Me will not die—throughout the age;
This is the knowledge (the Bread) of the Lord that comes down out of Heaven and feeds us so that we may understand the truth of the gospel. Those who "eat" of it...believing in what they hear....will live throughout this current age. They shall never mortally die.
John 6:58
Literal Standard Version
this is the bread that came down out of Heaven; not as your fathers ate the manna, and died; he who is eating this bread will live—throughout the age.”
Those who will keep His Word shall NOT SEE DEATH....throughout the duration of this age. They will hear and believe in His words of life and spirit unto an age-lasting life.
John 8:51
Literal Standard Version
truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone may keep My word, he may not see death—throughout the age.”
He that endures (patiently remains here in this earth) unto the end (of this age), the same shall be saved.
Mat 24:13 KJV
(13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
We are sealed with that Holy Spirit of the promise….the promise of an age-lasting life… in this mortal body in this earth. We shall not mortally die but shall continue to live here via the power of the cross....living according to His Spirit. As many that are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
With that Holy Spirit, we mortify/slay/kill the deeds of the body from our lives so that His life is made manifest in our mortal bodies which keeps us standing here in this earth for the duration of this age. His Spirit shall make alive (“quicken”) our mortal bodies giving us an age-lasting life.
Rom 8:11-14 KJV
(11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
(12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
(13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
(14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
By keeping the “daily” sacrifice of the Lord Jesus (ALWAYS bearing about in the body the dying of Him), then the life (an age-lasting life) shall be made manifest in our bodies….our MORTAL flesh. This is the power of God…the power of the cross… that will keep our mortal flesh alive for the duration of this age.
2Co 4:10-11 KJV
(10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
(11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
But to those that are perishing away in their mortal bodies to the grave, the preaching of the cross is foolishness. But unto us which are saved (never to mortally die in this age), it is the power of God that will keep us mortally standing here in this earth to the very end of this age.
1Co 1:18 KJV
(18) For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Our Savior has “abolished”….that is, rendered IDLE…death NOW for those who will hear and believe in the truth of the gospel.
He has brought life….an AGE-LASTING life (aka “eternal life”) …to light through the gospel. This is a current reality only found in Christ Jesus who died and rose from the dead so that we might have His current resurrected life NOW in this mortal body for the duration of this age until He delivers up the kingdom to God.
2Ti 1:9-10 KJV
(9) Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
(10) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
