Have you ever done something bad or had a bad habit and thought surely, God must understand. Surely, he doesnt really mind that little sin in my life, why He must hardly notice it all.
God is a holy God and when we do not take our own sin seriously, we deny that fact that, the Lord God, certainly does. True worship occurs, when we admit the truth about ourselves, that we are totally dependent upon God.
That we can do nothing well, apart from Him and allow him to pervade all aspects of our lives. True Worship is motivated by God, worship that is solely for His sake, not our entertainment.
Many people come to church to be entertained, but leave feeling empty and blame it on bad music or bad preaching. You can worship God, even in a church with terrible singing and even a bad sermon can speak to your heart.
Worship is for Gods sake, not your own. Its motivated by His glory. When you look up at the stars, see the rocks and trees and fish in the seas, you must know that there is a Creator. He controls the universe with a thought and created it with a word. He is The Lord God!
His glory motivates true worshp. True worship does not occur when it is motivated by the desire to see friends or catch up on gossip or keep people from talking about you for missing church True worship is for his pleasure. That is when you worship to please your creator, not yourself. True worship is based upon Gods word.
