I Delight to Do Your Will
This seems to be the day for personal reflection and for application of biblical truth to my own personal life. Where to begin?
On 9/17/2025 at 12:30 a.m. I began to experience very sharp chest pains in the area where my heart is located. I also felt chest pressure, difficulty in breathing, cough, a sharp pain underneath my left arm, and pressure in my ears. In my left lung, which is attached to the heart, is a 3 cm tumor which has been there since 2014 but which has now nearly doubled in size. It is believed that this tumor is what is impacting my heart and my breathing, and I have now been diagnosed with heart failure and with COPD, stage 3.
I have been going through a series of medical tests, and the last one is now scheduled for this Saturday at 9:00 a.m. EST. And this one will be looking to see if I have any cancer in my body, which will then determine what to do with the tumor in my lung which is impacting my heart and my breathing. But throughout this whole process, which has been ongoing for 35 days now, my prayer has been, “Yet not my will, but Thine be done.” I want the will of God to be done in my life and in my body above all else I might desire.
I Have Not Concealed Your Truth
Now, with regard to who I am and to who God has called me to be, the Psalmist David’s words here reflect that:
I am nearly 76 years old. I began teaching the Scriptures at age 16, first to children, then to youth, then to women in women’s bible studies, either in institutional church settings or in my home or in other people’s homes. Then to college age adults in a ministry my husband and I had together out of our home for 7.5 years (1999 to 2006). I was in a supportive role with my husband in lead position. But not all of this was back to back. I was not teaching all the time, but I was in Christian ministry most of the time.
In 2004 the Lord called me to this present ministry, to write down what he is teaching me each day from my times spent with him in his word, and then to post these writings on the internet. And I have been faithful to the Lord in doing that these past 21 years. I have proclaimed the truth of the gospel of Christ to the people of the world, via the internet. And I have taught, by the grace of God, the critical nature that by faith in Jesus we must die to sin and now obey our Lord’s commands, in practice. For if sin is our practice, and not obedience to God’s commands, we will not inherit eternal life with God.

Your Lovingkindness and Your Truth
When I got word this morning that I was scheduled to have this last medical test this coming Saturday morning, while I was in the process of responding to that notification, the Lord put this song in my head:

Trust Him today.

Trust in His love;
Believe that He cares.
He will not leave you.
Faithful He’ll be.
His tender mercies
Now you will see.
Fellowship with Him
Throughout the day.
Tell Him your heartaches.
He’ll heal always.
Rest in His comfort.
He is your friend.
Your faith He’ll strengthen,
True to the end.
This brought much comfort and encouragement to my heart, that regardless of the outcome of the test, that my Lord is with me. He’s got this! His tender mercies I will now see. His will is going to be accomplished. He’ll love and keep me with him always. He will not leave me. Faithful He’ll be. So I am at peace that this is the will of God for my life, at this time, that he has been with me every step of the way, and that the outcome of it all is in his hands. I rest in his comfort that my faith He’ll strengthen, true to the end. Amen!
