  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"When a person becomes more obsessed with what they are doing than who they are becoming they are on a dangerous path"

Our being compelled to preach or do good works, should never outweigh our hunger to see the Godliness of Jesus Christ become us.
The prick of the HolySpirit that brings us to our knees in personal change should never take a back seat to any of our accomplishments.

Some people seem to think that if they can win a debate or preach the truth, that it testifies of their Godliness and it certainly does not. The only thing that does is the purity and holiness of our lives, the reconciliation of ourselves to the ways of Jesus. The actual purity of our hearts.

We wrestle with this all our lives.
On one hand to be Holy as God is Holy and on the other hand our
sinful nature that will always be with us till it is finally buried in the grave
and we arise in the new nature, born of God...

I have been agreeing with God of late...

"I am the righteousnes of GOD in Christ Jesus"....

Am I perfect...no

Do I want to be more like Christ...yes...

I realize as of late that it is only through Christ am I accepted...

Not by how good I can be....

In fact I can NEVER please God apart from Christ....

So like it or not....I am absolutely dependant on Christ and so
I am draw again and again back to that first moment that I received
God's mercy and Grace at the foot of the cross.

Christ as our first love will bring all things under His headship and His
purposes in our lives.

Holiness, love, service, grace and mercy are all in Christ.

If we pursue Christ we will be changed..... IMO
