• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is that the only medication you're on? Be sure to tell your MD anyway... some meds cause different side effects and this may be one that you need to look into. If you're on more than just the ADs then it could be the combination... but your MD should have warned you (or the pharmacist) ... you can call and talk to the pharmacist for free about this, too.

I am on an antidepressant and a mood stabilizer and I don't know which one of them is causing me to sleep so much. I sleep over 14 hours a day and I can't take it anymore! I am so fatigued all the time. I did tell my pdoc about it and he said that he will either go up on the dosage of my antidepressant or he will add a second antidepressant that is more stimulating. I see him on Tuesday so wish me luck!

you did not mention if you just started the med. for the first month you may have several side effects until your brain adjust to the med., but I would still check with your doc.

I had trouble sleeping at first, but my side effects all went away, and I am glad I hung in there.
