  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

There's another tropical storm headed toward the southeast of the USA, tropical storm Isaac. It will hit the southern tip of Florida Monday, when the Republican convention will be held in Tampa. I wouldn't wish a tropical storm or hurricane on anybody, I feel sorry for Republicans. This will give Florida a bad name. Some years ago hurricane Charley hit my town and things were pretty bad. I stayed in my house during the storm. Our house only had minor damage. We've had work done on the house since then, not just repairs but tile floors and a new kiitchen put in, the linai has plastic sliding doors/windows. That should protect the linai/porch better. We brought in the light potted plants and statues. The other plants in pots outside are too heavy for the wind to pick up.

We have two statues out by the oak tree in the front yard of a Dutch boy and girl that are kissing, you put the boy and girl together like they're kissing, my mom and I painted them, we bought them from a garage sale and had to super glue the Dutch boy's head back on and re-paint them becasue the paint was peeling. It was a fun project. The little boy is holding a bunch of spring bulb flowers for the little girl behind his back, as a surpise, painting the flowers was really fun. We turned them over and laid them down carefully beside the tree. They are too heavy to bring in. My dad secured the garabge cans behind the lattice work with a rope. So we have everything ready. I don't thik we will need to board up windows.

With a huricane you need fresh drinking water, we have that, a manual can opener, cans of tuna and food, if the power goes out you need flash lights and batteries, it is not safe to use candles, we have bread, peanut butter, fruit, jelly, the cars are ful of gas, so we are prepared.

Well it turns out everything was fine, Isaac did not really hit my area, it went to the pan handle and to Louisiana/Alabama area. Those poor people have really been hit hard with storms. I think the founders of New Orleans really chose a bad place to build a city, the location of it is bad it is in an area subject to much flooding and storms, New Orleans has been hit with many storms and flooding, they should have built their city on higher ground, not in such a low, swampy area where it always floods. It is not good to live on sand bar islands becasue your home will always flood any time there is any kind of storm you will have to leave. It is like the story of the man who built his house on the rock and the man who built his house on the sand. Living on the beach might be fun for a while, but when storms come your house will flood.

Not to mention the fact of all the sin New Orleans is involved in. Voodoo, witchcraft, prostitution, striping, gambling, drinking alcohol, drugs, mainly the voodoo and occult witchcraft stuff and the prostitution and porn/striping exotic dancing that goes with gambling is what they do that is wrong.

I live in South FL and I volunteer at the Kid Ministry at my church Sundays (when Isaac started to come in) and they didn't cancel morning services, so I had to drive in it! It wasn't too bad though where I am at all. The power flickered, but that's it. It was sort of a pain since it was looking originally to come straight at us. So we bought gas for the generator, but since the power didn't even go out, I had to get the gas into the car with a small funnel, it was a mess. We still haven't gotten the second jug of gas in the car, I don't think we will.
