  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Who else here wants to see Tristan and Isolde? If you love the Notebook and Romeo and Juliet, you'll love this one. I can't wait to see it! Yeah it has love scenes, but I am waiting for screenit.com to post their reviews so I can see how bad they are before I go see it. Cause if there is a ton of bad stuff I won't go see it right away. But yeah who else has heard of it and wants to go see it?

Actually the rating R is for violence and more than 1 use of the "f" word. It could only have one "f" word and still be pg-13. R isn't for love scenes. A couple of my friends saw it and said it wasn't terribly bad, they did stuff, but it wasn't like "ahhhhh make em stop!" I usually look away, or if it's my movie I skip the scene. So love scenes do't bother me. But my friends said it was an awesome movie, so now I'm even more excited! I also can't wait to go see "End of the Spear" and "Glory Road."

I don't watch movies that have any love scenes/make out/sex scenes. A kiss or hug is ok...but beyond that...nope....what's the point? Movies aren't that big of a deal that I have to watch them with those things in it.

Ooh, tell me how it is! I'm going on Friday. Our movies theater isn't open today. My friends and I were going to see it last night at midnight, but my friend that works there says they weren't doing any showings that late. However all my friends have said it was excellent!

I liked it quite a bit, some of the critics said it dragged.. I thought they actually skimped on parts of the story as opposed to it dragging. Quite violent .. lots of tribal warefare, swordfighting bloody messes here and there (that's info for the folks who think it's a chick flick LOL!) I wasn't too fond of the guy who played Tristan. It was enjoyable enough but there's not enough to make the viewer understand why the story of Tristan and Isolde has been fascinating enough to have survived 1000 years.

Incidentally, my brother's name is Tristan, so you'd think he'd be all over it. However, my brother is rather uppity and any movie that isn't about sports is just so beneath him.

He might actually enjoy all the cutting off of body parts and manly sword fighting LOL. My daughter's boyfriend has siblings names Tristan and Isolde (honestly it seems a bit odd to name brother and sister after legendary lovers  )

 I agree. I enjoyed it overall, it was a good popcorn flick. However, I thought the guy who played Tristan was kind of wooden/shallow. Also, for those who were worried about the sex scenes...there were several but nothing too explicit. I wished they would have spent a little more time developing the characters and their relationships rather than the time spent on skin-shots. I was rather disappointed at the end. I didn't feel the least bit like crying. I like crying at movies and this one should have had me sobbing. Oh well. It was fun.

I saw Tristan and Isolde tonight! I LOVED it!!!! It was long, but oh so good! And clean, one cuss word, the loves scenes weren't that bad, and the blood and gore wasn't disgusting. There was just enough of everything!

I didn't get hugely into the love story. How can you feel like they loved each other when you see practically no dialogue? All you really see is them show physical affection. I'm sure you can care someone with little dialogue and physical affection, but it's not nearly as deep as when you KNOW someone.
