Trips without your spouse

Ive only been away from my bf for 2 weeks at a time, and it is painful. I really hate it, I miss him so much. THe only reason we go on seperate vacations is if we dont have enough money or we cant get time off together. We try not to leave each other very often though.

I've gone on trips without him. My family goes to Myrtle Beach every year for a week, and I have gone with them in the past without him (because he couldn't get the week off). I took our boys with me.
The past two times we've gone though, he has been able to go with us.
I've also been on some overnight ladies retreats.

I've never been on vacation by myself since we got married. My hubby's job as a truck driver means that he always works away from home which can be hard sometimes. As my family lives in England I may have to go over there without my husband in the future just because of the expense involved and because we may not be able to afford for him to have time off work.

Do you take trips without your spouse? Does your spouse take trips without you? Do go alone because you have to or because you want to? How long have you stayed away?

No we haven't taken any trips apart from each other except once when my husband was an intern and had the opportunity to go to NYC for free for a week. So he went. Sometime I may go visit my SIL by myself because my husband getting time off of work is difficult. But in general we do things together and I would have a hard time if he had to travel a lot without me. I would get so lonely and bored!

I did a girls weekend where we went to Atlantic City. I couldn't sleep the whole weekend. He had to travel for work a few years ago. He did it I think 2xs and then told the single guy to go alone because he didn't like it.

Nope, never been on a vacation without the wife.

I went on a weekend retreat with the Men's Group at my church though... but that was less than an hour's drive away.
