Maybe because Orthodox Judaism was a response to the Trinitarian (Messianic) views of other Jews? Every think of that?
Uhhh... no...???
Judaism never had a trinity theology, thus it can't be a "response".

What a weird accusation.

Indeed. Oddly enough, His signature also reads:

Kol Moshiach ~ In all things Messiah is everything!

כל משיח kol mashiach doesn't mean "Mashiach is everything" or "Mashiach is all." It means "every Mashiach." That's an odd thing to put on your signature, IMHO. ;)

Rather than "unorthodox Jew" (of which I am one myself), shouldn't Shimshon bear the Messianic symbol? The Magen David was, I thought, designated for non-Messianics. Isn't that the distinction on these fora!

There's a poll and discussion going on dealing with that right now. I don't think it's been fully decided yet.
Last I heard most were leaning pretty heavily toward blue MD for Jews(and I think MJs), and blue MD with a cross in center for Jewish Christians, Scroll or Jerusalem Seal for Gentile Messianics (& Jewish MJs if they'd prefer that over the MD, and I think the Scroll is winning the spot??).

But DON'T quote me, lol, I don't know what's been decided yet. Check with Trishri1, she's handling it.

I believe it was a response to the destruction of the temple and the need to hold to Torah even throughout the Diaspora. There was already Orthodox Judaism at the time of Yeshua it was not 'made' after he came along.

As history records. In Yavneh they formed a religion diametrically opposed to that which in their minds tore them apart....i.e. Messianic (trinitarian) Jews. The division exists to this day.
In keeping with the Torah and in keeping with not following the gods of the other nations. It was a way to assure that True Judaism, Israel with or without a homeland, would survive.

Orthodox Judaism has never taught the trinity because they have never accepted Yeshua as Messiah.
I believe it was because they (including his brothers) never accepted him as G-d. :)
