but trigun is a great anime, its one of the few anime's that i still want to put into the dvd player.

NGE isn't really for younger kids cause it has nudity, especially blatant towards the end. As well younger audiences will most likely totally miss about half of what is happening.

Trigun is one of those animes that almost all, if not all the episodes could be watched by younger kids and they would get the anime as well.

Yeah, but in regards to Asur's post, it really isn't for kids. At least not for anyone under 13. :)

There's a LOT of violence, and several *important* themes that would fly over the heads of younger viewers who would most likely just glom onto the violence. Sadly enough, I've seen this in my presence in the fandom: the 11 and 12 year old fans all babble on and on about how "cool" the guns are and how "fun" the fighting is. I've seen some older fans do this, but IMHO it's a mostly under-14 phenomenon and one I honestly find disturbing.

I mean, one kid poster I had seen, IIRC, discussed the scene in episode 24 (Highlight for spoiler, it's one of the two major series spoilers) where Vash kills Legato as "cool" and "he got what he deserved," rather than as the height of desperation and cynicism leading to what was supposed to be one of the saddest scenes in the anime. RAR!

Along with the violence, there's a few sexual innuendos and the like. Most of these aren't worse than what you'd see on American TV at all, but they are there. :)

Despite these things, this is my favorite anime series to this point. I love the storyline, the plot, the characters, and Milly and Wolfwood are among my favorite anime characters, Legato among my favorite bishounen. ^^ It's a great series, and one of the two animes for which I write fanfic. :)

I think I'll be posting more here. See you when I do

I've only seen a few episodes of Trigun and that was before I really knew what anime was. I don't know how many people watch Adult Swim on Cartoon Network but in April they will replace Big O with Trigun and show it again (along with new Inuyasha!). Kenshin and NGE are both really really good.

Really? Yay! :) I'm really happy to hear that. I like Big O, and I've seen Trigun a lot. . .but one more time would be nice. :)

Off topic to Big O:

LOL, yeah, to most 13 year olds it would be kind of confusing, since the main part of the plot, especially in season 2, dealt with several philosophical questions (i.e. such as can we survive without our memories and would we want to? Should anyone be in control of others? At what point does technology become humanity's downfall? Can something inhuman become human?)

I'd say watch it again after you've had a few high school or college history or philosophy classes. . .you'll probably be less confused then and may actually find it a very intriguing anime. :)

Oh, and I think Dorothy wasn't too creepy. . .:D In fact, I liked her a lot better than Angel. Just my honest opinion though. :)

Back on topic:

Anyone else think Meryl is one of the most annoying characters in Trigun? Everyone says they hate Milly or Rem, but I personally find Meryl to be the most grating on my nerves anime female, second only to Relena from Gundam Wing. I have a special dislike for obsessive, whiny female characters I guess. :p

oh yeaaaaaaaa~ hehehehe XD Vash the Stampede... 8) totally love him... XD eh... >.> <.< i meant his character... >.> <.<

i wouldn't mind having the gun... :D

i like the concept that Vash doesn't kill anyone, but rather he injures 'em...always willin' to help those who are in need, and doesn't care 'bout what others say of him...in other words...he's my type of character... 8)
