Triggers: beware: Do any of you hear voices/Things?

When I rapid cycle i sometimes hear things and I've also seen things , I know im not schizophrenic because the doctor said it was part of my rapid cycling and bipolar , i was wondering if anyone else had this issue?

Hearing voices or seeing things can happen with any mental health diagnosis. Many moons ago it used to be believed/felt they only happened with schizophrenia, but "they" now know otherwise. I have not personally experienced this other than one time when it was actually a side effect of a medication I took to help me sleep! Twas not fun in my situation as I could tel these things were not real.

These illness that mess with our neurochemicals (brains) can sure mess with a lot of things!

being bipolar really stinks sometimes , they used to scare the living daylights out of me (The voices in my head) cause sometimes it will seem like there out of my head and not in it , its scary , i was just wondering if anyone else had this problem

well, my personal exsperiance growing up was horrible. especially as a teen. what's worse was i was OCD with some very unhealthy religeous family members. ugh. as i got older and continued to get help; my thinking became alot more exsperianced in coping. i'm still in theraphy. i long ago lost count on how many times i've been hospialized, including once this month. i'm on meds daily. and have break through meds. i guess i'm saying all this to show you, that you can live as normally as everyone else. just have a different healthcare plan than some.

Yeah, when I am manic or hypomanic. I have conversations with my late mother and I really feel like she is answering me back. Used to have conversations with angels and God too, and it is so frustrating because I can never be sure if I was just sick or if we were really communicating.

I had this experience before it maybe hallucination or strong sixth sense. Try consult your problems to some one who is trustworthy such as your church's pastor, friends and family and never forgets to pray when it happened again...

I have them all the time (even on meds) and IMHO, it's ok as long as you don't expect anyone else to hear or see what you did.

And GPV, I talk to God and angels too. I used to think it was crazy, but now I realize I am special. Not everyone is lucky enough to have God speak to them or for Him to send an angel to them. Many people will never know that feeling, but we do.

I have exprienced hearing rushing wind and distorted voices and sounds a couple isolated occassions. Only when I wasn't taking my meds though. And they were a direct side effect of missing a few doses. It was like withdrawal, accompanied by tremors, diarreah, nausea etc. I didn't have them befor I started meds and they disappear once I take them. My doc told me that symptoms like that will probably be around for 2 weeks once we decide that I'm off meds. And then it'll go back to normal. That period is a litle scary though.
It's never been anything but alarming, nauseating and a little painful almost.

I have heard voices, I used to hear them early in the morning when I was waking up sometimes when I was taking one drug for my schizophrenia. Now I take another drug for my schizophrenia and I don't hear a thing it is nice.

I heard a voice once, but I mostly just see/hear things. It's kind of weird. But I guess it's alright, since I know they're just delusions. As long as I don't confuse them with reality...

My little voices have been with me for a long time. Sigh. I actually thought I had multiple personalties at one time. They are in my head, rarely out of my head. Except for when I was asleep recently and I heard a mans voice say very loudly "Hey!!!!!!". Uhhh, that woke me up!
My "friends" are dulled by meds, but always there waiting.

When i am very poorly an sometimes when im not have mood problems i hear,see an smell things.because they happen seperate to my bipolar,i have an actual diagnoisis of schizo affective disorder.manyt means i have shizophrenia symtoms an bipolar,mixed an seperate,.its rare an a pain.i am on bipolar site though as i always say bipolar as i find it easier to explain i guess.have you ever been told you may have this.i take shizo drugs an mood meds.

I used to hear footsteps running up my porch but when I got up off the couch and opened the door there was nothing, I did this over and over again one day until I just locked my door and ignored it. There have been times when I would hear a child yelling for help, I would jump up run out my door and look around my trailor and around my surrounding to see nothing. And sometimes I would see like a showdow out of the corner of my eye or pereferal vision if you will. Im not shizo, but never the less I have had these things happen to me. Also at night when Im by myslef lying in bed for the night I would get these dark thoughts to kill myslef and that would be all that I could think of, I prayed and prayed and prayed that they would go away to no avail, so I would get up and SI and then it would all be over but the throughts were so real and so over bearing. It hasn't happened latly though. As far as the hearing and seeing things nothing since Ive been on my meds.

When I'm "high" I hear music....all the time, and it never stops...ever.

I'm not sure if you are talking about dreams..but right before I go into a very deep low I have a dream that I am sitting on a cloud with my best friend's brother, an aunt, and my grandpa. I've had that same exact dream 4 times, and those were the 4 times that I wound up in the hospital.

I don't hear "other" voices but I do hear my own.

What I mean is that I literally start talking to myself in my head. I can take something so small and turn it into something huge in a short amount of time. I get more and more irrational as I mull it over in my mind. A lot of the time I don't even realize I am doing it.

I don't know if this makes any sense to anyone else.

I hear angels singing when water is running or something is droning
in the background like a refrigerator or a fan/cooler. As a kid I heard
people talking but could not make out any words.
