myways you missed the most obvious commonality that htey are all physical entities. That is they are mae of molecules etc, not concepts like the idea; franceNo, seriously, I am really sorry. Somthing really bad happened in my personal life right after I started this thread, and I forgot all about it.
There are two good answer sets:
The obvious answer is that they are all intoxicating at some level, and therefore, addictive. So, one might argue that since some of the above are admitted to be good things that God gives His blessing for, that having the label "addictive" is not necessarily sufficeint to show it to be a sin.
The deeper set of answers is alot cooler.
1. Each of these intoxicants is the object of its own subculture of connisuers
2. These ingestables are among the most tastable substances in our lives.
3. Some practice is required to develope a pallate for each
4. The varieties commonly held as the finest by the connisuers are often the least palatable for the inexperienced
5. These are by in large the only types of food, etc. for which information regaurding growing region is relevant enough to be printed on the label.
So, I would like to make the claim that all the appreciation that we have for the special goodness of the above we owe to our brains' associations between the particular tastes and the fact that they get us "high"
