I'm an adult with aspergers. Life has been no picnic. NTs however, can quite frankly be worse off than people with AS.
NTs sometimes end up in wheelchairs, get cancer, and develop a severe chronic illness.
I know this man. At 28 he developed MS. Prior to his affliction, he had a promising career in the military. He's 60 now.
NTs have other trials too. Bad marriage, or one having worked hard his whole life and nothing to show for it.
Years ago, Dr Willard F Harley wrote a book entitled Surviving an Affair. A hard working, successful family man came home from a business trip to discover his wife sleeping with another man. The hell he went through with his wife and family easily trumps anything I've ever been through.
While there is Autism Awareness, I strongly feel we who are on the spectrum should develop an awareness for misfortunes NTs may have.
