Tree Of Life

What would have happened had man eaten from the tree of life as well?
Natural death no longer possible? Sin and eternity exist forever? Is that something that CAN separate man from god?

The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. 22 And the LORD God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” 23 So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side[e] of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

I find that this set of questions gets to some very deep issues!

1) The entire rest of the Bible focuses on not only getting man back to the point of "eating from the tree of Life," which seems to be an over-simplified allegory; but also on advancing G-d's original purposes beyond that. Thinking that our fate is the central concern makes no sense, and everything about the Bible screams the opposite.

2) This "river" keeps showing up all through Scripture. Therefore it seems significant.

3) Sin was able to separate man from G-d. If/when you can fathom that that is no longer the case, you will be able to understand things that even Holy Angels cannot. (And unholy angels really do not get that at all)
