Canada is only six hours? I will have to see how far it is from New York to fly. I just can't grasp how a very heavy object can float on air, although it does! It scares me... but maybe I can take a sedative.. or two.. better go with three. That might work

I dont like flying either.. although i've done a lot of it, but it does stress me out, and when i'm up there i always say 'never again'. Sometimes it's not too bad. New York to London would be about 6 hours.
What it is, is the shape of the wing, the airflow over the top of the wing causes less air pressure on the top surface, and draws the wing up to equalize the pressures. A goose has a similar shaped wing.
The pound has lost a lot of value against the dollar, i found that out recently when i ordered a book from the US.
I am hoping to go to singapore this summer. It's about 13 hours direct flight. I've been to Cancun Mexico.. that takes about 10 hours. And i've been to Arizona.. 13 hours. But the channel tunnel is very good.. direct to Paris from London. If you really dont want to miss Ireland, it could be done in about a week, at a rush. Ireland is quite expensive. You really need more time.
