  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi guys.

Lately the Devil has been visiting me and I think he wants to take me down because I keep studying the Bible. I know that this personification of evil incarnate doesn't like it when we draw closer to God. I have been fighting him off and on, I don't think he likes me very much and I kind of don't like him either because I know he's evil and that he only wants to harm me.

I know that the Devil hates us, and yes, hatred like that is a sin. We are commanded of GOD to love one another.

I have considerably grown in my spiritual warfare/combat skills but I still pray to GOD and ask Him to help me defeat the Devil. Please pray that the battle will not be too long, or hard.

I don't know if GOD called me to fight him, or if my calling is strictly one of combat, but I sincerely desire to serve the LORD and do whatever His purposes for my life are.

Sometimes I have wondered what God's will and purposes for my life are. Sometimes I've wondered what he has truly called me to do, you know, the reason why I exist.

Oh yeah, and that the Devil stops trying to kill me. I think he is trying to. I know he is plotting against me. Every now and then an angel will give me Intel and tell me what he is doing. The information is very helpful, it helps me defend myself against one of his evil schemes.

I pray that Father will protect you. And you are right how the Devil hates us reading the Bible or prayer. Usually I will crack a yawn or two, then realise I am a half-dead zombie.

Father has a plan for all of us I am certain of it, whatever it is that plan consists of.

God bless and Love

Man, I hate to see anybody suffer, but I have a question about this, yet again

When I look the word up in the Bible concordance it says the devil was a goat sacrifice of the Levites

Are you sure you aren't misunderstanding something, or is it me, and if it's me, can you explain if this is a different " devil " than the Concordance refers to, and if so, where is the listing ?

Thanks again

Hi Jacqueline. Please, if you can, define for me exactly how he has been visiting you.

Turn your Bible study to how God wants us to combat Satan. It is to trust Jesus and believe what he said. It is to resist whatever is contrary to God and his Word (and flee if it is sexual temptation). One of Satan's schemes is to get you to pay attention to him, because this takes away from your focus on God. There is no good enough reason to give your attention to Satan. Do not participate in anything Satan says, indicates, or does. Do not demean him or yell at him, just ignore him.

But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (Jude 1:9, 1984 NIV)

If he speaks to you, do not answer. Sometimes doing all that is difficult, but it is a period of time that will pass, and of course, you can ask the Lord to deal with it for you or to help you. The daily request to God of protection from evil (found in the Lord's prayer) is there for a reason. Also get others to pray for you.

You may hear of followers of Christ being effective at commanding Satan to depart—something that can be done by faith in God—but even that is only a temporary solution (Matthew 12:43-45). The permanent solution is always believing in and obeying God. We fight him by keeping our heart focused on Jesus and the truth. He is the one with the power to fight the supernatural. If you try to fight Satan in any other than through faith in God, you may experience what a bad idea it was (although the Lord will still be protecting you).

Hi Jaqueline! :)

I read this yesterday and I felt as God made me notice your thread, as I have been going through similiar struggles like you these last months. I felt so alone yesterday, even though I know God has always been with me and still is now too. I have felt like many Christians would become more condemning than supportive towards me, and many can become this way too. Yet these past months it has taught me to depend on God the most, something I am still learning and practicing these days.

I have some fallen angels in the flesh who are living across the field from where I live, so they have been watching me, and may still continue watching me. It is sometimes overwhelming for me, but I have decided to put my trust in my Lord. This all happened with them showing themselves to me when I started thinking in wanting to spend more time with God, reading in the bible as well as praying. The last three years before have been a very difficult time for me where I struggled much with my faith, and were also bound by much anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, and a very negative thought pattern which was very difficult getting out of. I have been tested with sexual temptation twice, but I didn't give in to it. Second time was harder, but I decided to not listen to that desire put within me. They have also tried getting my attention in other ways too.

God has truly lifted me up from this, I have been forgiving those I couldn't fully forgive earlier, I no longer wish to hold on to any bitterness nor anger, and I am working on my thought pattern these days, with God's help, of course. These experiences has taught me what is most important, and that in the end none of what people do to us, nor say, nor how they act will matter anymore. What matters most is that we will be with God, His Salvation, being written in the book of life, this is what really matters the most! We shouldn't hold on to our own pride, we will learn to letting it go when we have and focus ourselves in His love.

I also wondered like you if I was meant to fight them, but you know, it was more made clear to me that we are not the ones supposed doing the fighting. God is the one who fights for us, whilst we stand there in faith. We just need to continue trusting in Him, then He will do the rest. We are no match for the devil and his angels, but when we stand in Christ's authority and with full faith in Him, then we are much stronger because of Him.

Be certain of that when you have become a big target for the devil that God has a special plan and purpose for your life, or else you wouldn't have been attacked nor payed much attention to. Keep on praying and asking God to show you more of what He has in mind for you, I will pray for you too. Don't be afraid! Know that God is protecting you and taking care of you, you will not be tested with more than what you can handle.

"No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it." (1. Corinthians 10, 13)

The devil will sure be plotting and try out new ways to make you fall, or keep your mind and focus away from God. This is where we should continue keeping our mind and focus in Christ, following Him and do what He wants us to do. Also be aware of that God is in control, He will have you on earth as long as He wants. This is why we shouldn't need to worry about what will or might happen to us, as long as we keep our focus on Him we will be doing well. Everything should be about Him, and that we may do His Will!

Just when I wrote that message above there the computer suddenly started acting all bad, not letting me submit the message at first. Praise God He still let my post get posted into here, I felt as there was already a battle going on with trying to hinder me from posting this. All other windows stopped working properly too, and then this page crashed and I thought my post for you was lost. But it was still there! Praise God! :)

I also wanted to mention over there on my first post to you, to keep on raising up in Him. Keep your mind and focus on Him, keep on walking confidently in the path He has set before you! You are meant to grow stronger through Christ Jesus, praise Him for helping you grow through these times of testings!
