Is what is true and useful for You

Fragmented by the constant strain, and pain

In this present brokenness there is nothing amiss

Blow the husk far away into the forever dusk

When the dawn shines and the emptiness is done

Catch the life that will endure through every strife

Strengthened with sustenance, by Your substance

Happy are the hands that winnow so others may stand

Through the floods and the shedding of their blood

Through it all we are able to provide a glorious staple

All who watch may see that You have cut this swath

Made me think of this passage in the Bible ...

“Simon, Simon (Peter), listen! Satan has demanded permission to sift [all of] you like grain; but I have prayed [especially] for you [Peter], that your faith [and confidence in Me] may not fail; and you, once you have turned back again [to Me], strengthen and support your brothers [in the faith].”

And Peter said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You both to prison and to death!” Jesus said, “I say to you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will [utterly] deny three times that you know Me.”
