• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Left behind in the wake of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"policy repeal, transgender individuals remain unable to serve openly in the U.S. military. This discussion brings together representatives from invested parties -transgender veterans, their advocates, the U.S. Army, and the Canadian Armed Forces, which allows transgender individuals to serve openly -and will offer a rare opportunity for all parties to share their perspectives and insights on this issue.

So what would you call a transgendered superior officer? Especially if it wasn't clear?

Star Trek uses "sir" regardless of gender, and a whole lot of officers have been Star Trek fans. Also, a lot of women have disliked "ma'am" for a long time. I suspect a change to calling all officers "sir" wouldn't take much effort.

I avoid looking into other people's boxer shorts, so I wouldn't have issues with a fully transgendered person. It does appear that the military (the Air Force, at least) has gotten 'way to fraternizing, religious, and political lately--all of which reduce military professionalism, and less professionalism is actually a detriment to acceptance of such people.

"Don't ask, don't tell" is actually a very good way to keep things--performing the mission doesn't require knowledge of who everyone is sleeping with, praying to, or voting for.

Transgenders have been in the military for quite awhile apparently. A former Navy Seal came out as such after he retired of course.
Imagine America's enemies who think we're deserving of their terrorist attacks already. What they'll think when they know they are likely to capture a female in man's uniform on the battle field. Or a man dressed as a woman in uniform. The horrors suffered by POW's are unimaginable. What shall happen to those who are what they are in this new allowance.

Babylon the fallen. God help us.

If they are willing to accept that risk in defense of our freedom, why should we demand otherwise? The question of whether "transgender" is a Biblically valid concept is completely separate from the question of who should be allowed to serve in the American military. The answer is, anyone who is willing to fight and die to defend our Constitution and our citizens.
