Transcendent Love

I know that no one can become Love like God is, but exactly how do I go about becoming a Love that is beyond that of a normal human? How do I break the limits of what most people say Love is?

Truth be told, one of my Dreams is to become love. But I'm not God, so that's not possible. Instead I'm aiming for the next best thing, what I call "Transcendent Love" or a Love that goes beyond the ceiling or roof that human love has.

How do I do that? I already know about 1st Corinthians 13, but I'm looking for something else to go along with it. Seriously, what do I need to do to achieve my dream?

Enter a monastery. That's one of the things they work on.

There was a monk on Mt. Athos who loved the world so much when the Persian Gulf war started he began praying for the world to be at peace. He didn't stop praying until the war ended.

Keep in mind, that even "normal human" is nothing to be undermined, as we are capable of extraordinary feats and displays of love.

That being said, true love is whole, and unconditional. Love is not something we necessarily are, it's something we live by. The same goes for truth, and righteousness. They are our greatest assets, and though love pure-form is majestic, it often is accompanied by the other two. It is like adhesive that holds virtue together forming an exemplary character.

That's all I can advise without further elaboration, what exactly do you mean by becoming love? Your capability of love is only limited by your understanding of love, and through love are all other emotions rooted (according to my belief). When you fear losing something, you do so because you love it. When you're angry about something, you are because it's complicating your ability to love. The list can go on. Take solstice in the fact that, we are in essence made of love. It is love that brought us into this world, it is love that creates life. It is through love that we sacrifice, and through love that we forgive, heal, and do all things good.

That being said, you may already be perceived as an embodiment of love to others. This may be the closest you can get on earth, but only God knows what you can become, and what you are to become. That being said, keep your tongue true and your heart open.

Read the Psalms. David was a man after the heart of God.

God does not use His eyes, He does not use His ears. He uses His nose: "For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing." 2cor2:5 These are the prayers that the angels gather and collect and put into the golden bowl before the Throne of God.

You need to die to self and let Christ live in you with the new birth. No one can love as God loves, but God will love through you if you've accepted his forgiveness and repented of your sins.

You have to follow the path Jesus told us , by looking at the beam in your eye ( ego ) cause the ego will put conditions on how your love is expressed .Is this person worthy is that person not worthy etc.. Love has to be unconditional "God's rain falls on the just and unjust " You have to understand as Jesus did " I of my own self can do nothing the Father within he doeth the works" We can't create love we can only allow God's flame of love to flow through us into the world. And you got to start loving yourself cause only by loving yourself can you ," Love thy neighbor as thy self "

That is inspiring, and thanks for the advice, but I'm not sure if I'm being called by God to Monastery Life. I have to keep studying to become a pastor and Evangelist. I'm not sure if God wants me to just drop everything else and go find a Monastery instead. But you answered my question clear and concisely, so thank you.

What I meant by "Becoming Love" was really that I want to be a Symbol of God's Perfect Love on this Earth, when people see my actions I want them to know that there is hope, and his name is Jesus Christ.

To be Sincerely Honest, I want God to shine through me, and make me into a light that everyone near me can see Christ through.

What you seek is in fact the Holy Spirit, and if you seek your heart, you will find the spirit of truth. When I received the Spirit, I was contemplating the means of how to return to the purity and openness I once had as a child. I sought to rediscover that eagerness and hopeful mind and heart I had lost, and eureka.

There's no way to explain the feeling you get when you receive the Holy Spirit besides becoming love as you put it, and with no doubt in any manner you know that you are one with Christ as the spirit of truth dwells in you. You then will understand what Christ meant when he spoke of the truth, and you will understand the power it has. It's really quite simple, your eyes open and you obtain certainty that God is real, and you receive your mission and purpose with absolute certainty.

When I received the Spirit, I necessarily didn't identify as Christian, but my moral compass was very biblical at heart. If I can give a suggestion, you should read "The Egg" by Andy Weir. This short story opened my eyes to the new perspective I'd adopt which fast-tracked me towards that precious moment when I was born again. God bless and good luck!

I realized that God is Love, and that Jesus Loves Everyone, and because Jesus Loves Everyone, I should be willing to risk everything even my life for one soul. Because Jesus Died for Everyone, I should be willing to give my life for God and Everyone who might need it. It might be forward or even a little stupid sounding, but that day I realized, I love everyone, and I don't want anyone to go through pain if I can do something about it. I guess In a way, I love you and everyone on this earth, and am willing to give my life if that's what it will take to save your life if you need it.

I could go further in depth but I won't unless you need me to.

That does not sound stupid, it sounds correct. Let no one deceive you into believing that is stupid, for if what you speak is true, then you are in fact a brother. Read my other response, and consider The Egg by Andy Weir as I aforementioned. It's only a five minute read, but will resonate in your heart.

This is how one recognizes the truth, as the truth resonates in the heart, and is clearly coherent in the mind as well. The only thing that can limit one who knows the truth, is their faith in it.

I just finished reading "The Egg." It's interesting to say the least. And now I think my questions on Love are answered, though not because of one story, but because of everyone here who replied. Thank you all.
