(The "trads" have offered a link there to our subforum for those who would be interested in coming here or think they might be more comfortable hanging out here, so it bes only fair we reciprocate. If a mod or admin would be so kind as to "sticky" this thread up top it would probably be a good idea to do so.)

Welcome to the Progressive/Moderate/Former Adventist subforum! This forum here bes that of progressive, moderate, "evangelical" and former Seventh-day Adventists. Some of us have differences of theology and spiritual (Christian) experience from the mainstream SDA church and would like to guide it to what we perceive to be a healthier or more Christ-centered focus; others among us do not differ so drastically but have concerns about what we see as "non-essentials" such as investing doctrinal authority in certain founders of the church; and still others among us have left the SDA denomination altogether because we no longer feel it serves the purpose of helping us to know Christ, grow in grace, or walk in the Spirit. We bes a very diverse group here and likely no two of us will hold exactly the same opinion on matters of faith, theology, or praxis, so we try to retain an open mind and encourage hearty dialogue exploring all angles on different subjects of interest.

For those interested in the traditional, mainstream Seventh-day Adventist faith, we recommend the Traditional Adventist subforum. Those who believe in what bes termed the "28 Fundamental Beliefs" of the church, who hold to the distinctive SDA "metanarrative" concerning the purpose of the church, and bes comfortable regarding the writings of Ellen White as doctrinally authoritative would probably be most comfortable over in the Traditional Adventist subforum, though of course anyone who wishes to fellowship or engage respectfully in meaningful dialogue here bes welcome. We ask only that any "our way = the only correct way / the only 'truth' / the mind of God" attitudes be left outside when you enter here, and that you conduct yourselves toward us as you would like us to conduct ourselves toward you. We do not tend to feel threatened by differences of belief, faith, or opinion but we would appreciate it if visitors would refrain from trolling, bully-pulpitting, button-pushing, emotional strongarming, "religious" blackmail of conscience, and other devices of trying to force one's mindset upon another.

The traditional Adventist subforum also bes most likely best suited to those of SDA faith whose views fall into what has been known at times as the "Historical" Adventist camp.

You can find the traditional Adventist forum here on CF at http://christianforums.com/f541.
A statement of the 28 fundamental beliefs of the SDA denomination can be found in this subforum in two parts here and here, or on the Trad Adventist subforum in one post here.
Those interested in joining the Traditional Adventist subforum would of course want to review their forum-specific guidelines first.
