Trade Wars?

Not exactly a spiritual topic, but could have spiritual implications. The world seems to be headed for a major trade war. Not sure if there will be any clear winners but lot of collateral for sure. As a Christian who loves all people and a global investor, I certainly can't take any sides. But I pray that the Holy Spirit will intervene and lead all leaders before there's another major global recession. The speed and ferocity with which nations are striking each other (trade-wise) is unnerving. May the Lord protect all people, especially the body of Christ from financial ruin which in most cases leads to spiritual ruin. Amen.

Recessions are to be expected from time to time in a free market capitalist system. It's a logical outcome of the system.

It happens periodically and God doesn't even care...

Because money is the opposite of God (Luke 16:13). Money is synomymous to evil because most of the money in the world is made by exploiting the cheap labor of the weak and poor.

Money belongs to the old corrupt system and it will soon pass away and replaced by a new system under Christ.

China already has a 25% tariff on US autos and is considering adding more tariffs. The US has tariffs on foreign made pickup trucks going back decades. The implementation of new tariffs will hurt free enterprise and raise the cost of living for consumers. It is a new tax imposed by the government. Such manipulations have the potential to reduce worker productivity. Less cost efficient workers and industries get favored.
