just one more note, when my son was a baby (he's 6 now), we just had family clean up time at the end of the night usually. and we let Friday night go (no chores, need a break). it's harder to clean more with babies.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My mom would throw away my toys. Or so I thought. I have recently learned, that she would take them away for 2-3 months. But them in a box in the attic and then take some out and mix in. We would be like wow found that lost toy. Never did remember it had been taken away. lol

Thank you everyone for your responses. I usually help them pick up, but at ages 8 and 10 I feel that they should be doing more of the picking up. A lot of times when I help them pick up, I find Im doing most of the work and they are right behind me getting out toys that I just put away.
I do like the idea of breaking the job down into smaller tasks, I think that will help out a lot. I also think I will try the idea of taking some of the away for a few weeks and making them earn the toys back.
