I think tourettes is an excuse for people to curse. And people with tourettes don't JUST curse.

Many people with TS don't curse at all. The have ticks that may be a throat clearing or a blinking of the eyes. Its not an excuse for anything. My friend's son has TS and is managing it well.

I went to a church once with someone in the congregation with this and he wasn't able to control it as well as you guys say you can. He would do it loud and yes, they were cuss words. It is funny to see how the "religious" people act. As though this has somehow defiled the building. Christians...Churches, need to have a few more encounters with what makes them uncomfortable because all of us deep down are real people.

I have an idea for a tv show. It involves people hunting neds with high powered rifles. We will call it. " ooo man i got like shot man"

That wid be like pure mental man. Bring on the ned hunts.:D Oh wait, you cant harm dumb animals.:(

@Flames: I know what you mean about "religious" people, I would love these people to get out into the real world now and again and see how the real people live. A quote i here alot is "Be in the world but not part of the world" which pretty much covers it.

Its also nice to here some people have positive experiances of Tourette sufferers, thanks.

Ive been watching a program here in the UK and theres a guy on it with Tourettes and i started wondering how he would be viewed by people in the church along the road from me and in all honesty i couldnt work it out, so i thought i would ask you guys.

How would a person with tourettes be viewed in your church? I know that swearing/cussing is unacceptable in church but people with tourettes cant help it.

If they are believers they should be viewed as brethren, just like anyone else. If you mean, how should we deal with the struggles they endure for their affliction, I can pretty much assure you that they have much more to deal with than we do. Therefore, we should be supportive in whatever way we are able. That said, if the tourettes significantly disrupts the service, it may be a good idea to seek alternative methods of discipleship. As far as I know, there are medicinal means of controlling the ticks that are often expressed as random outbursts of profanity, and other ways.

God bless

A Ned is a slang word for someone who is, young, drinks heavily has very little respect for anyone(including other neds), they like to gather in large groups to intimidate and scare anyone weaker than themselves, they produce many children at a very young age and expect the tax payer to foot the bill and wear sports clothes as a sort of uniform.. N.E.D.S. None Educated Drains on Society.

Other words for neds. Chavs, hicks.

Hope that helps.:)
