  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is a touchy subject because many people have very deeply held belief systems about this. I thought I would mention this though because I think it is highly under taught in the church, even abused. The subject is women leadership. We know the bible has the verse "I allow not a woman to userp athourity over a man". I am wondering why it seems to never be mentioned. I agree that under control of the spirit at any given moment God can preach through a woman or anything like a man. But the church has placed women in office as pastors. I used to wonder about this as I didn't see anything wrong with women pastors (i.e. I ignored this verse). But I understand why God placed this in His word. When women are in leadership over men, they become manly and the men become feminin. This is not Gods plan. Your thoughts?

I agree with faithhopelove. Could a mod please place this in the correct thread please. Thanks.

To respond to you question, I somewhat agree with you. However, this doesn't mean that women don't have a vital role in the church. Every believer has spiritual gifts and need to use them. For example, my wife has the gift of prophecy. When God speak through her to me I listen. Often times the word God has given my wife for me or the church has affected my ministry. I have always listened to what God has to say through her and I have been blessed because of it. I hate to think about what would happen should I had disobeyed God. Anyway, woman, even if they are not pastors, play a vital role in the church. God bless all you woman who use your giftings and obey God. You all are a blessing to the whole church.

I agree with you too. Women should use the gifts God gave. I just think that when the verse is as clear as it is (And I know women have had lots of positions...just none that place them over men) then it should be followed. I think God set it up for men and women to have different roles, and if those are reversed you get men who don't know how to be men, and women who don't know how to be women. By the way, I don't think of women as lowly, far from it. I just believe all of us are to be the men and women God wanted us to be.

The Bible says that women are not to be in authority over men. Thats what the Bible says, plain and simple.

At the church I attend, we go by what the Bible says, including this verse. We have women that are in charge of certain ministries such as childrens church, a womens Bible study, our ministry to help deliver meals to the bedridden and sick, etc. We have a woman in charge of VBS. But no women elders, decons or pastors.

I personally, due to the verses in the Bible, believe it is unbiblical and wrong for a woman to be a pastor. God has designed a hierarchy and thats just how it works.

In the whole humanity, it was a woman that was full of grace: the Mother of God, Mary.

She is the first between the saints.

To be saint is by far more important that to have authority

Sounds like a special woman to me!

I agree with TrustingmyLord.

I also agree with TrustingmyLord that women can be great Bible teachers, and that The Lord uses women for many wonderful things, but pastorialship should be for a man only, as the Bible states.

As to whether this thread will be moved or not, I don't know? I'm new here, so still learning the website. :sorry:

you should always go by what the bible says about things and this matter also. Teaching anything other than what the bible says is the spirit of the anti christ.
God holds special resposibilities for those who teach/preach. Make sure what you are teaching/preaching is Gods word ..the truth.
