Did anyone ever watch that show? I've caught 3 or 4 reruns of it the past few days, and forgotten what a great show that was. Of course, I'm always in tears whenever I watch, but truly, it was such a great show. My oldest son watched the first time I tuned in the other night (my youngest half watched), and tonight, we watched two back-to-back episodes together. My oldest son told me during a commercial what a great show it was and that he really liked it. There was some great discussion with his dad and I following the show, that was really good.

Touched by an Angel is an American drama television series that chronicles the missions of a group of angels sent by God. Created by John Masius and produced by Martha Williamson, it ran on CBS for nine seasons, from September 21, 1994 to April 27, 2003, and aired in many countries all around the world. Regular production was based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The show starred Roma Downey and Della Reese as an angel and a boss, who helped God's directional life. The show's premise was based heavily on non-denominational Christian concepts. During its run, it was one of the highest-rated shows on CBS, and acquired a substantial fan base.

While John Masius is credited with creating "Touched by an Angel," the series as produced was substantially different from the pilot Masius wrote, which never aired. Masius' script emphasized human suffering, and the angel Monica confides that God toys with humans for sport. CBS fired Masius early in the first season when Masius refused to write a more life-affirming story. He was replaced as executive producer by Martha Williamson, a Christian writer and producer who made the show what it eventually became.

In the United States, the show has been seen on the Hallmark Channel since 2003.

It's a feel-good show, enjoyable, but without much real substance. It's surely a better influence than, say, Family Guy, Desperate Housewives, Supernatural, and others (some of which I watch - I'm not pointing fingers - just thinking with my keyboard). If you're going to be watching TV anyway, and don't look to it as some sort of oracle, I can't think of a much better show on regular television.

Awesome, I love that show. I've been watching it since I can remember.

rainbowbright, that is true. It would be better if Jesus was mentioned. He is mentioned sometimes, just vaguely. It would be better if they used His name. And sometimes verses from the New Testament are mentioned.

Protoevangel, I agree. It is definately morally better than those shows. Although, I do like Family Guy lol

I don't think Jesus is mentioned because I believe the show was trying to reach a large audience. They say "God the Father," much in there, becauase I think it then incorporates Jews and Christians alike.
