Anyone can shoot their mouth off but what do you think the probability of anyone actually attempting to do such a thing is? Not very high if you ask me.

I think it is rather high.

There are geneticists all over the world (mostly working from labs in S Korea) trying to resurrect the extinct species Woolly Mammoth.

A human/chimp hybrid would actually be much easier to accomplish.

That would NOT be a chimera. I know later in the article the author makes that option, but that would not be a true human chimp/hybrid.

BTW, this is not a new idea. I had a former co-worker who was held as a POW in WW2 Germany. The Nazis forced sex between the POWs and chimps to try to make a herd of hybrids. He said there were shaved baby chimps running around the camp in an effort to make the prisoners believe the attempt was successful.
