  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I offer you this - Scripture says for us to take every thought captive (II Cor 10:5) and renew our minds with His Word (Rom 12:2). The life application is when those tormenting thoughts come, immediately start thinking on His Word such as "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee," (Isa 26:3).

Of course, we can't do this without His overwhelming help. You will be successful in doing this though because of Yahweh's promises such as "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13).

Praying for you, too.

I know you likely know this and have heard the scripture below repeated over and over again; but substituting one way of thinking with another way of thinking will work wonders. Think on it! It works for me!

8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8-9) (ESV)

Prayers for you..peaceful thoughts ahead!

So many of us don't know the authority we have. I've only just realised that God gives the Spirit when you ask and you in turn can wield the sword and turn those squatters out. I don't believe your tormenting thoughts come from you. Niether do i believe its an illness.
They are demonic thought patterns, ugly, horrible, and stubborn but you have authority to send them packing. Jesus said:

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

Also, crucially you can cover your mind with the blood of Jesus. In fact imagine covering yourself and your family head to toe, If you have any idea how a door was opened to those spirits, repent of your actions and ask God to fill your mind with the Holy Ghost especially empty spaces left by the demons. This is important because they could 'come back with several spirits and you will be in a worse state than before according to Jesus:

Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. /B]

You possibly know all this. I'm assuming, like me, that you haven't actually used your authority for deliverance though. Excuse me if I'm mistaken there.

It works bro! The blood of Jesus is superb.

:holy:

I would really value your prayers to be delivered from tormenting thoughts. I have had this problem for nearly twenty years and I need Jesus to set me free. Thank you

These tormenting thoughts are from the enemy. To be set free from tormenting thoughts you need to rebuke them with the word of God. The word of God in 2 Corinthians 10:5 says we take every thought captive to obey Christ. For instance, if you have a thought that says "I'm worthless" you would say..I rebuke that thought in Jesus name. The word of God in Romans 5:8 says that Jesus died for me while I was a sinner. I am valuable to God because Christ died for me.

Or if you are feeling guilt about something you did but had already repented for, you would rebuke that with 1 John 1:9 which says that if we confess our sin, He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

You probably need a deliverance but this is something you can do to counter these tormenting thoughts, which are from the enemy. You need to rebuke every single one with truth. Your identity needs to be fully and firmly planted in who God says you are. Gods word says you are a child of the living God, righteous and holy, blameless before the Father and justified by Christs blood. Speak those words over yourself and reject the lies and labels of the enemy.

If you want to talk about this further message me anytime. God bless.
