Which reasons would that be? (Let´s say, five of the "many" would be sufficient, for starters.b*unique said:my daugher just turned 7,and we never make her feel ashamed or weird about naked human body,but naked in public is not acceptable behaviour,for many reasons

Of courfse it's got to do with sex - specifically, the western neuroses about it which equates any sort of nudity with sex. If nudity wasn't equated to sex in the west, there'd be no fuss about the woman being photographed topless.MikeMcK said:It has nothing to do with sex. It has to do with morality and judgement.
Archivist said:This woman is an artist.
Artists paint and photograph nude people, sometimes relatives. As an example of this, Salvador Dali often painted his wife nude. In turn, they often pose nude for other artists or they paint or photograph themselves nude.
How is it immoral for this woman, an artist, to pose nude for another artist?
How does that show bad judgement?
This is preposterous. What doesn't put pressure on children?b*unique said:it is bad if it put pressure on children
Subjective.and it is bad if it sells rubbish to them
Axe to grind?many other reasons,one of those,i would prefer my child to be unique,rather than some prefabricated clone of some sad ageing
atention seeker calling themselves star

Archivist said:A Texas art teacher might be fired because topless photos of her were posted on the Internet. The school district claims that her behavior violated the "higher moral standard" expected of teachers. She claims that the photos were artistic in nature, not pornographic. By all accounts she was considered an excellent teacher prior to this incident.
The full story can be found here: http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/06/16/naked.teacher.ap/index.html.
My personal opinion is that she should not be fired for the following resaons:
1) Her behavior did not violate Texas State law. It is not illegal for a woman to go topless in Texas;
2) She is an art teacher and artistic nudes are considered acceptable in her field;
3) She did not show the photos in class;
4) A male taecher would not be fired for posting similiar photos (a little thing called the Equal Protection Clause).
According to the story, the photos were posted by her female partner. I whether the school's actions are really based on her sexual orientation rather than the nature of the photos?
Any thoughts???
So you don't think she could be punished in any other way serverly enough then being fired?KarateCowboy said:People have been fired for much less. What will her students think if they let her work there and passively condone this? Also, teachers are answerable to their students or their students' parents. I wouldn't want a stripper or flasher or whatever she is teaching my kids any more than I would want a child molester. In other jobs, like if she were a secretary or something like that then fine, but she's working with impressionable kids here.
CNN said:"If that's not something they want me to do then I want to be told that. I don't feel as if I was doing anything that was beyond expectations."
Well I suppose they could suspend her without pay for a while.kopilo said:So you don't think she could be punished in any other way serverly enough then being fired?
If the school forces her to take down the pictures off the website, and takes 'artistic nude' out of the ciriculum.
Liberally speaking in America it could mean anywhere from 12 to 19. And sexual morality and such is more than just knowing about biology, as I'm sure you'd agree.Also she is teaching at a highschool, I don't know exactly what age group that means in the US of students, but I'd imagine their 'impressionable' minds might have a fairly good idea of the human anatamy, especially if they have studied or are studying biology.
