  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Technically unauthorized touching by either sex is a battery, but you are probably correct that a man might have difficulty getting anyone do do anything about his chest being touched by a woman.

Your statement that "society is more unfair towards men than towards women," would make an interesting thread. You could argue that it is unfair that men are subject to combat duty in our military or that women generally expect the man to buy an engagement ring for them with no ring bought by them in return. Actually I've seen threads on both of those points on CF.

In any event, that isn't the point of this thread. We are simply discussing topless beaches and the ability of women to exercise the same rights to go topless currently exercised by men. If you think that women should not have this right, why? Further, if they shouldn't have this right why should men be able to go topless with impunity?

That's off-topic but a legitimate point. However, most Western men would be just as spooked if they saw another man in a dress.
how about Scottsman dressed a full regulation kilt and sash?

"Lust" occurs whether we or our subject are clothed or not.

Based on reports provided in the thread on "Nudism", societies that are more comfortable with nakedness have far fewer problems with lust and sexual deviancy than do societies that try to cover their bodies mostly or completely.

It was interesting to note that several of the "fundamentlists" that flew planes into the twin towers on September 11th spent the night before in strip bars, and that the western countries that opress nudity the most (America is at the top of the list), are the ones with the biggest pornography market (America again).

The point is to teach us to respect other peoples bodies for what they are... temples for the Holy Spirit, created by God naked and unashamed, regardless of whether they are draped in fabric or not.

Son-cerely,
Nate
the point of this thread.....
1. the point is that there a difference between the innocence of a 5-6 year old in his diaper ,and a 21 year old without a top ? [ innocent , undevleoped ]

2. between a nursing mother , and a model ; between a 6 year old and a 60 year old ... context , purpose , perception ...

3. between a man and his wife in their yard & same couple at a public beach

4. same sun , same air , same topless / naked people ... why the need to be naked with others .... before others ?

5. the context of the book says ... we can look at one another , in marriage , a blessing husband to wife and wife to husband ... apart from marriage ... fornication , adultery , pornography , ... entice , tempt , lust .... if we see a more perfect body ... we start to compare our spouse , girl friend .... with others ... judging them lacking , imperfect ... in need of silicone ...

6. we do what we will , have free will , but what we do is not always consistant with the word , will , or blessings of our pastor ...
