4) "One Thing Leads to Another"- The Fixx

5) "Der Kommissar"- Falco

7) "Master and Servant"- Depeche Mode

8) "People are People"- Depeche Mode

9) "Pop Muzik"- M

10) "Heart"- Pet Shop Boys

Am I sure this is the kind of thread I should be answering? No, I'm not. But eh.

All U2, only doing studio versions, in order:

1. 11 O'clock Tick Tock
2. Gloria
3. A Sort Of Homecoming
4. New Year's Day
5. Sunday Bloody Sunday
6. Heartland
7. The Three Sunrises
8. One Tree Hill
9. Where The Streets Have No Name
10. Tomorrow

That was hard. Even if I was doing other bands I think I'd keep that list.

Alright, here's mine, limit one per artist (or the Pixies and Sonic Youth would own almost all of the list), and in no particular order b/c it would take forever to put them in order....

1. The Pixies- "Where Is My Mind" (this would probably be my real #1)
2. Sonic Youth- "Teen Age Riot"
3. U2- "With or Without You"
4. Michael Jackson- "Billie Jean"
5. The Jesus and Mary Chain- "Just Like Honey"
6. The Violent Femmes- "Kiss Off"
7. R.E.M.- "Catapult"
8. The Police- "Every Breath You Take"
9. Joy Division- "Love Will Tear Us Apart"
10. AC/DC- "Rock N' Roll Ain't Noise Pollution"

FYI: That song is actually by After the Fire. That is, unless Falco did a cover version of it that I've never heard of.

Anyway, there's absolutely NO WAY I could choose my top 10 80's songs. The 80's were my favorite decade, musically speaking, so it would be virtually impossible for me to do.

Nope, the song is Falco's. It was ATF that did a cover version of the song (in '83). Falco's version came out in '82.

I will not put any Phish in because they don't have that "80s" sound.

So:

Anthony's Song - Billy Joel
Uptown girl - Billy Joel
Relax - Frankie goes to Hollywood
Call Me - Blondie
What a Thrill - Cyndi Lauper
I touch myself - Divinyls
Thriller - Michael Jackson
Billie Jean - Michael Jackson
In the air tonight - Phil Collins (let me know if this wasn't 80s LOL)

I know the rest in my head but I don't know their names. I'll have to come back and post them.

ps139: "I Touch Myself" is by the Divinyls. The Phil Collins song you mentioned is from 1981.

I love 80s modern rock! I'm not good at thinking of everything at the top of my head, but some of the musicians I love include, A Flock of Seagulls, Rick Ockasic, Wang Chung, Blancmange, U2, Simple Minds, Icehouse, Ultravox, Thompson Twins, Echo and the Bunnymen, and the Fixx.

Good to hear! They're both great bands. I like Joy Division better, but New Order is great as well. Awesome dance music.

Hey Morrisey! Yeah Joy Division is Better! Their cool British Voices. I especially love the song Love will Tear us Apart.
