  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Tool & APC, what's Maynard's real thoughts on Christianity?

Now, I'm a big Tool and APC fan (have all 7 of their albums combined, all their music videos, a lot of covers, ect...). Now, I know that they've made several "blasphemous" songs, Opiate, Eulogy, Judith (APC), Weak and Powerless (APC), and I thought for sure that Maynard wasn't a big fan of Christianity. But, then I listened to the lyrics in Thomas (APC), and started to wonder, what does Maynard actually think of Christian theology?

So what do ya'll think? What is his meaning for Thomas?

For some stupid reason, I can't post links....

But, if you want the lyrics, just go to lyrics.com. APC is under "P", Tool is under, well, you know.

well he did grow up in the baptist church..... well....... i could go on with his bio but it is easier to insert a link.. people often misjudge others based upon their actions.... for all you know keenan could be a devout christian but he never shows it just to make you think that he isn't( i could see him doing that). because that type of label (at least for a person in the secular music world) is very degrading. i just think this is a ploy to keep you guessing as to what he really thinks and to what he truly believes. it is a possibility that he could want to reconcile with god but i highly doubt that is the case. to me maynard is such a deep minded person with such abstract intelligence that not too many people are able to relate to him. i think he hates labels and this is one of those ploys to avoid being labeled as an satanist or a christian or whatever..... those are my thoughts.
