Not familiar with all of the songs, but I believe that "Sober" is off of Undertow. The lyrics might be dark, but they are very, very good.Maynard Keenan said:I like the music and lyrics from all four albums. Does anyone else have this problem? On Opiate, the song Opiate seems to be lower quality, the volume is lower and it doesnt sound as rich.
DMBfanLongliveStrongBad! said:i don't mean the music. Musically, from Opiate to Lateralus, Tool is just amazing. however, lyrically they have changed. and i think they've changed for the better, that's all.
and not just 'cleaner' but actually better. more interesting.Roo6339 said:i agree... if you compare the lyrics in aenima with lateralus you see just how much cleaner they are now...
H is one of my favorites too.Maynard Keenan said:H would probably be my favorite Tool song. But I'ts hard to say for sure, they have a whole lot of good ones.
btw, do any of you guys know how HWAP got it's name. (i used the acronym because i don't think i can say that on CF)

Maynard Keenan said:I know this isnt the forum to be discussing morality....but that statement is ignorant. Morals are, by my definition, recognizing human dignity and acting on it. I don't understand how you can't figure that out without God telling you what to do.
he says "i'm THE MAN, and you're THE MAN, and he's THE MAN as well"Roo6339 said:because maynard is one messed up guy. someone called him a sellout, so he wrote a really angry song about not being a sellout... how he got that name i'll never know... i suppose it sorta goes with the part "if i'm a man and you're a man then he's a man as well"... kinda... i don't really know...
my point is that i don't think christians should act in any particular way because they "have morals". I think christians should act Godly because that's what God asks. I think non-christians have morals. and i think christians have the standard of jesus, that they try to live up to.Maynard Keenan said:I know this isnt the forum to be discussing morality....but that statement is ignorant. meaning "THE MAN" (the powers that be)
i was just wondering about the title, because i don't see exactly how it relates to the song.
