Nooo dont ever think that, you are never too old, i wish i could but i have had ME, that makes my brain sluggish , or i would love to . Dont let anyone hold you back babeI am getting ready to go back to school for a diploma in nursing. I have a degree in Social Work now but it's time for a change. I sort of thought about continuing my education with a Master's degree in social work, but I decided against it - I have been deciding against it for a long time, that's why I waited so long to do anything because I didn't feel like I really wanted to stick with social work.
Anyway... I have had a number of people tell me that they think I might be too old to go back for this degree... Sometimes, I feel that way, too. When I am finished I will be 35 and starting over at the bottom in nursing.
Do you ever feel that in your 30's you're "too old" for something that you would like to do?
Do you do it anyway?

You are NOT too old. I am 31, and a RN. I went directly after high school, graduated when I was 22. I graduated with such a great diversity of people. Black, white, men, women. But mostly what I remember is the ages. The oldest one to graduate in my class was in her early 50's. She is an awesome nurse! In fact, there were fewer younger graduates than younger ones in my class. You will have unique challenges in that you have to juggle a career and family with school, but you're at an advantage in your maturity level. I was a kid and was not prepared for all that nursing school required. You will find nursing is a great field, no matter what age you are. I had surgery 5 weeks ago and my nurse was in her late 50's and had not been out of school long. She was sooo sweet and I liked her sooooo much better than the young one I had on the next day. Pray about this and if this is where God is leading you, you will do great! PM me if you wanna talk. Nursing is hard, but rewarding. There have been days I've wanted to go work at WalMart, but God want let me, lol. But the good thing is that it is so diverse. There are so many options with nursing.I am getting ready to go back to school for a diploma in nursing. I have a degree in Social Work now but it's time for a change. No! You are not too old! God knows it is hard enough to really get anywhere in a world that doesn't really acknowledge you when you are still in your 20's, (I feel ithat 30 is a second coming of age) Jesus began his ministry when He was 30. Relax, give yourself time to grow and remember that people are living longer these days!I am getting ready to go back to school for a diploma in nursing.
