I don't believe Jesse Duplantis' "vision."

I read the whole book, but I think it's either made up or a vision from somewhere else - maybe his own imagination.

There's something off about a vision where God accidentally splats an angel against a wall like a bug.

Yeah the site is certainly a mixed bag for sure, some entries I would read in a heartbeat but there is a lot of stuff that I would avoid. It is also too glitzy.

I read the whole book, but I think it's either made up or a vision from somewhere else - maybe his own imagination.

There's something off about a vision where God accidentally splats an angel against a wall like a bug.

God moved his finger and the angel flew up against a wall unhurt...he didn't splat him. If I recall there was a similar situation where a sick man was slammed up against a wall unhurt and received total healing after a Kathyrn Kuhlman meeting. If God really wanted to hurt someone one I don't think they'd be able to walk away from it. Smith Wigglesworth operated where he would physically punch people in the stomach for healing and they were healed...that was always kind of unsettling to me but you can't argue with the fact that the people were healed. I don't pretend that I understand everything about the way God works...I just know that the Close Encounters of the God Kind inspired me to draw closer to God...to want to know more of what the word of God said...this book did not....but that's just me....most of us respond to different things.

Duplantis' book was just off to me. I don't know how to explain it. There were bells going off the whole time I was reading it, many things that didn't seem right. The angel thing was the one thing I remembered well.

The other thing is, he said that God came to him when he was in bed, and said, "You wanted to see Me. Turn around." Two or three times, God commanded him to roll over and look.

Now that's a direct order from God. But Duplantis chose not to - or was unable to. I would think - and this is just my logic - if God Almighty told me to turn around, my body would respond to the command of its Creator, no matter what I wanted.

Not that I wouldn't have wanted to look. Even if it meant instant death, nothing would keep me from turning and looking. It's something I long for every day. . .

But that's another thread!!

In addition, I've watched his show multiple times, and all I ever heard him preach was a variation of "Send me money and God will bless you." I hate it when preachers do that. He also lives in this huge mansion. A man of God would be taking less of the money, and using more to help others. JMO

God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and they did...we all disobey God's commands at times. All I was saying was that the book ministered to me...I can see where it might not minister to others.

As for the money thing...I'm wholeheartedly with you on that...I heard he was building a huge mansion...(heard reports of anywhere from 42,000 square feet to 23,000 square feet)....can't understand why anyone would want a house that large in the first place...of what possible benefit is it over a modest size house. Maybe it's just a sign of the times... a lot of ministers seem to be losing their way...and it seems to be getting worse.

True, about Adam and Eve.

But they didn't have the perspective of living in a sin-filled world like we do. I long for that first sight of God. Adam and Eve were idiots. So is Satan. Why would anyone want to be equal with God? To know that the Creator is so much bigger, stronger, more knowing, etc. than I could ever be is seriously comforting to me.
