Dear Daily Message Readers,

READ: Jude 1:12-15

BIBLEGATEWAY LINK: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=jude%201:11-15;&version=47;

Jude 1:12-13 (NET) “These men are dangerous reefs at your love feasts, feasting without reverence, feeding only themselves. They are waterless clouds, carried along by the winds; autumn trees without fruit– twice dead, uprooted; 13 wild sea waves, spewing out the foam of their shame; wayward stars for whom the utter depths of eternal darkness have been reserved.”

Mormons.

Jehovah’s Witnesses

Bahá'ís

Muslims.

Hindus.

Buddhists.

Thousands of religions encompass this world. Standing alone, each has distinct beliefs and practices. Standing against the Bible, each is false and fits the pattern of today’s topic verses.

Apostates cannot provide anything to anyone. This is why Jesus said so boldly in Matthew 15:13, “Every plant that my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted.” Apostates cannot produce new life in Christ or edify true believers.

Do you realize how many people sit under teaching at “Christian” churches where they are being led by hidden reefs? Where they are being led by clouds without water who can provide no rain? Where they are being led by barren, fruitless, twice-dead, plucked up trees?

Too many to count.

Faith Lesson:

Our Father, we pray that you equip us to be discerning and help us to help other true believers be discerning. Help us to be about what Jude exhorted his original audience to be about—contending for the faith, the Gospel deposit. Help us to have implanted in our hearts and minds the image of false teachers given by Jude here in these verses so we can recognize them, warn others about them, and rebuke them. We praise you for your true teachers and shepherds all around the world. Protect them from falsehood and help them be led only by your Holy Spirit in all they do for your name. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

In Christ,
Darin Smith
