toddlers/young children and advent

If you are doing advent with your toddlers,how are you modifying it to fit them?are you still lighting candles?What verses are you reading?My son is only interested in the candles,and Id like to make it ore important for him.

We don't do anything with candles.

We have a felt advent calendar my mum got the kids last year.

My 7 year old is better at it than the 3 year old, he just remembers to do it each day. Whereas I am going to wait until there is more of the picture to show the 3 year old and let her play with it. and talk about the nativity story.

Weve one of those. But it didnt seem right,probably because it kept disappearing into the playroom. But maybe next yer it will go better..thank you

Not a parent but what I used to do for my toddler Sunda School class was use Adorenaments. I'm not sure how readily available they are anymore but it's from the same company that does resurrection eggs. They have ADVENTure of Christmas this year so may be worth looking into.

We use a construction paper wreath and glue on paper flames.
The verses we use are on my other computer. If I remember I'll come back with them.
