Today my Matt toddled into the bathroom and got the tiolet brush and started swooshing it around in the toilet like he was cleaning it. I had to laugh. I wonder when the time will come when he will whine when I ask him to clean the toilet!

Actually my constant "no-NO!s" and mild swats have made a difference. We hardly ever have to put up baby gates anymore and most of what he gets into is just out of curiosity.

As for the TP thing, it isn't the act of ruining a double roll of TP. It's the fact that he knows he isn't supposed to play with it and does it anyway that gets me.

It is nice to read this, sometimes I wonder if my 2 year old is not the most challenging child on the earth, so it has cheered me up to read these posts. The thing that really gets me is sometimes she gets this most defiant look on her face, like 'I dare you', boy then my blood begins to boil. She has just started preschool and now she has taken to hitting when she can't get her own way, there is quite a lot of boys in the preschool and they are more physical. So now she is put in time out everytime she hits us or any of her little friends, however I have to physically pick her up and put her in the room (she flat refuses to go in) and then make a sprint to the door to get there before her, because she then hangs on the doorhandle and cries for the whole 'timeout' period. We spank her for 'grave issues', such as open defiance. Most days by the time she goes to bed I am flat out tired, especially now that I am pregnent with our second. Somehow when I imagined having children, it was the nice quiet variety that my friends have, we got the fireball however. I love her to death, just sometimes I really don't know what to do with her.
