Less than a week ago I had my back porch door open and suddenly I heard my next door neighbor's dog, Penny, barking very fast and very high. I knew she was being attacked, but I couldn't hear another animal. Then all went quiet. I called my neighbor immediately, but she didn't answer so I just left a message of what I heard, figuring they were busy with Penny. The next day she called me and they had both (she and her husband) been asleep and didn't hear the attack but they found Penny at the bottom of their deck stairs. She was paralyzed. They took her to the emergency room vet and her back was broken, and she needed an operation and was quoted $5,000. She had no feeling in her back legs or feet. They took her home. I cried all day. I went over that night to see Penny in her condition, and talk with them about what they were going to do. Penny was on the floor in their den on a blanket sitting up with both her back legs sticking straight out. She was in no pain because she had no feeling. They even had to squeeze her bladder on a pad for Penny to releave herself. As yet, they didn't know if her bowels were working or not. All Penny could do was pull herself up three steps from the den to the main floor with her front legs and drag her back hind legs across the floor.

At the little church I have been going to, I've been learning by watching them pray for the sick. They COMMAND the healing. So I put my hand at the base of Penny's back and commanded healing in Jesus' name, and told my friend to keep that up and I went home. The next day she called me and said Penny was walking on all fours! We are keeping up the prayers and thanking God that Penny is being healed.

No. I am sorry.

Of course, many professing Christians have misapplied Scriptures in support of what they deem gifts, and many charlitans feigning they can perform them abound, but I have never implied their existence today. What exists are false prophets proclaiming they have such gifts, but not miraculous gifts.

Matthew 24:23-24

• "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
• For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."

That the Charismatic/Pentecostal movement is very "deceiving" I do not deny, but that is not the same as actual miracles. That there are now, and will be later many false prophets and false Christians claiming to do "signs" and wondrous things which were seen in Scripture I never deny. But the ignorance of many in their lack of understanding "why" the miracles and signs were actually done is what causes Christian uncertainty, discomfiture, and difficulty. The signs and miracles were "specifically" done first as evidence demonstrating the power of Christ as the fulfillment of the prophesied Messiah, and second as a picture or portrait revealing the power of the gospel to come. What I deny is that anyone has seen or done or can do the supernatural miracles that you see/read recorded in scripture as a sign. A "sign" is a token, something that is done as a signification, token or symbol. Christ and the Apostles did signs as this indicator that the prophesied Kingdom of God had come--not as a supernatural archetype that the church would continue today, get it?

Matthew 11:3-5

• "And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
• Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
• The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them."

The proof that Christ was this prophesied Messiah was that He did these signs, supernatural wonders, and miracles which were prophesied in Scripture to herald in the Messiah. The miracles He did were obvious signs confirming Scripture prophecy and "pointing" to the healing of the "sin-sick" soul. The true act of love (agape) or charity.

Hebrews 2:3-4

• "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
• God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?"

The signs were a confirmation that this was the prophesied Messiah that would bring salvation to Israel, and each miracle a portrait of some aspect of that salvation--whether raising from the dead or calming the sea, that was its purpose. Once the Bible was completed, the signs were completed as far as such supernatural activity goes. Today, what those signs represented or signified remains with us, not the supernatural signs pointing to it. Just as the miracle of Moses parting the red sea, it was a "sign" of the people of God crossing over to the promised land, not an indicator that God's servants after him would continue the practice of the miracle of parting the sea today. We still cross over to the promised land, but not through the "sign" of the red sea.

Are you saying those who doesnt believe in Todd will be mauled by bears ? wouldnt it be otherwise ?

And many professing Christians fall into the category that the 'correctly applied scripture' calls "ungifted/unlearned" when talking about 'experiential' knowledge of the gifts. And their faith is equal to their lack of experience....no surprise.

Several years back, I was the old codger allowed to be part of a young whippersnappers group who thought they were the cutting edge of God spiritually compared to us fuddy duddys. One night 'Billy' brought his dog Buster to the meeting because the vet said he was terminal. Everybody oood and ahhhd over poor Buster. I'm thinking come on kids it's a dog, let's get spiritual here and study the bible. Well they decided Buster needed to be prayed for, for healing. I'm really having a 'you got to be kidding' moment. I share that to let you know where my faith level was, when they decided that the bible said "call for the 'elders' to pray for the sick. I had a bit of a panic attack thinking what am I going to pray that isn't going to reveal my unbelieving heart here. So I started out doing my 'best' when the Holy Spirit endued me with the His supernatural manifestation of the "gift of faith". My prayer changed and I prayed with the faith God requires. When I said Amen I told Billy; "That dog is healed." Next time I saw Billy I asked about Buster. He said it was funny, because the vet redid the blood work and it came back negative. So he redid it and it came back positive. I told Billy to keep believing God and not the tests. That dog survived. People believing like you have a funeral. Your choice.

And BTW I don't get $600,000 for the gospel from the pockets of men. Not that money or the lack thereof is the litmus for what is received by faith....but to each his own 'deception' IMO. And the deception of those 'devoid of the Holy Spirit's gifts' from unbelief here, is way better represented here than that of those who do believe....and that is a "deceiving I do not deny" either.

Okay, let me explain how we identify false prophets.

A Christian being wrong about something in the Bible is not the definition of a false prophet. It is saying "thus saith the Lord when the Lord has not said" and all that entails. As for example if someone says that people can be saved without the blood of Christ, that would be an example of a false prophet. When someone would say that the New Testament with Israel is not the Israel of God, that would be a false prophet. But not just being wrong about a teaching or misunderstanding a doctrine. The Apostle Peter was wrong about some things and was rebuked by Paul, but that didn't make him a false prophet did it? But the Priests, Scribes and Pharisees were false prophets because they called Christ Evil, rejected Him as the Messiah of God and instead looked for an earthly/carnal ruler, literal earthly Kingdom, reign and establishing of a political nation. In short, they looked for and preached "another Christ," other than the Christ of the Bible that came to them. The problem arises because false prophets don't come bells and whistles declaring that they are false prophets. They come looking like true prophets.

Matthew 7:15

• "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."

Christ didn't say beware of the evil Romans, or beware of political rulers, or beware of those who would write bad laws, or beware of Clinton, He goes right to the heart of what we all should be wary of. The church! Or more specifically, those coming in the church looking like the church, when in fact they merely have an outward appearance of sheep, when they are in fact those out to devour the sheep. The term "Wolf in Sheep's clothing" specifically points to man coming preaching Christ and looking like a Christian on the outside, but inwardly being those out to destroy Christ's sheep. That's how Satan works, and that is the insidiousness of it. They come as deceivers not as political leaders of a secular nation, or Hollywood Celebrities, but as a minister of righteousness usurping the laws of God. He does this through sentimentality, through chicanery or sleight of hand, through smooth talk and spiritual insanity. This carnal thinking of man with delusions of grandeur was the fall of the Old Testament congregation and it will be the fall of the New Testament congregation as well! The "false" idea of a earthly kingdom and reign. The false idea of a national political kingdom and reign in Israel. The false idea of God wanting to see everyone happy and be prosperous. The false idea of God blessing those who give money to the church so pastor can have a private jet. The false idea of following those who say "thus saith the Lord, when the Lord has not said." There is your false prophet. Why can't Christians see it? Simple. Because they come in sheep's clothing and all the indifferent and slothful Christians go, "Sheep, Sheep."

and gifted Christians have written about witches invading churches and duplicating certain spiritual gifts but........
Satan usually gets us by getting us to exaggerate the sins of others and slander them as we can be sure happened during the first century as the fledgling Messianic Jewish movement began to grow rapidly.

I would humbly encourage you to do some careful research into Todd White. While he does seem to be a very kind, compassionate and sincere man, that does not automatically mean that what he is doing and teaching is Biblical.

Also, I would honestly stay far away from Sid Roth and anyone he has on his “It’s Supernatural” program. For years he’s been “making merchandise” of people by claiming to sell “anointed” materials on his show, through which people can have an encounter with God, receive healing, prophecy, the power of the Holy Spirit etc, all for a price. Remember in Scripture where Simon the Sorcerer tried to buy the power of the Holy Spirit?

9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

Scripture is clear, the power and presence of the Holy Spirit cannot be bought or sold, and yet this is precisely what Sid Roth and all his guests claim they can do. For a price you too can buy the “anointing”, the “gift of the Spirit”, the presence of God, the specific “God-given” ability his current guest has. You too can be blessed by giving money.

Also, Todd White recently partnered with Kenneth Copeland in order to raise money for his new (very expensive) Campus. Anyone who is unaware of the massive problems with Kenneth Copeland has not been paying attention. Todd has praised Copeland wholeheartedly and even called him his “spiritual father”. I truly hope and pray Christians will heed the numerous warnings is Scripture about great endtimes deception and lying signs and wonders.

I might agree, if "ALL God's children" could use 'God's power' to do even one other thing, on the rest of that list.

MAR 16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."

That section of the new testament was never a problem for the "ungifted/unlearned" nominal church until the gift of tongues began to be restored a 100 years ago.

As I've shared before, "ungifted" translators did an injustice by 'adding' their punctuations in this passage. "In the name of Jesus" means with the 'character and authority' of Jesus. It does not mean just because you're a Christian and can say the name 'Jesus'. Examine your own testimony, based upon the same line of thinking that I'm presenting. In the context of the verses you shared above, do you say; "In the name of Jesus" before you speak in tongues 1CL? I never have. Can you think of any time when Jesus ever said 'In my Father's name or in my name (????)' 'come out' or 'be healed' etc. etc., before He manifested the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit? IMO this passage is simply misunderstood by the Charismatics almost as bad as the Fundamentals IMO.

So, I'd exercise caution in claiming for the 'whole body' that which may only apply to those who've received the 'multiple baptisms' required to even reach the level of maturity needed to walk at that spiritual level. The last one being the baptism from the Holy Spirit. Most here have proven multiple times 'they don't believe' IMO. That's why it's always the 'haves' against the 'have nots' here.... for the most part anyway. I do know Christians who do not think more highly of themselves than they ought, concerning what they 'see and believe in' but never 'believe and walk in'. But they are in the 'humble few' and I respect their honest evaluation.
