  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"Donald Trump suggested Monday that American soldiers and veterans who commit suicide do so because they can't handle the post-traumatic stress of war.
"When you talk about the mental health problems, when people come back from war and combat and they see things that maybe a lot of folks in this room have seen many times over and you're strong and you can handle it but a lot of people can't handle it. They see horror stories, they see events you couldn't see in a movie, nobody would believe it," Trump said Monday, during a panel interview at the Retired American Warriors PAC, in Herndon, Virginia."

While I think he was trying to be supportive, Trump's words basically call soldiers weak for not being able to handle it.

According to the link, he also said [years ago]:
.... that he is looking forward to voting for former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin for President.

POE?

Poe's Law is applicable, yes. But I have no reason to believe he's not sincere.

Trump insults Kaine during the debate in which Pence says Trump is not running an insult-driven campaign.
That was priceless. Although Pence seemed more Vice-Presidential overall, IMO.

Trump is willing to do something to deal with the situation. If he understands the situation or not. As I said, I have a friend that lost a leg to a claymore mine in Vietnam. He attended the support group that the Vet Administration provided. He said they were doing nothing to provide any real help. People need God, People need the Lord and people need Spiritual Faith based help. Only God can deliver people in their time of need. Only God has the power to make a difference in their lives. All the more people with PTSD need THE LORD, people need to turn to God for help. You are dealing with a chemical neurological problem that only God can straighten out.

"The sympathetic nervous system sends out impulses to glands and smooth muscles and tells the adrenal medulla to release epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine (noradrenaline) into the bloodstream. These "stress hormones" cause several changes in the body, including an increase in heart rate and blood pressure."

Yeah, I think it was clear that Pence won on demeanor. Not sure why Kaine felt called upon to be an attack dog.
He was reading the script straight off of the Democratic web site. He just felt a need to apply his own twist and perspective on the issues. Still the Dem's are all reading the same script and saying the same thing because they all share the same researcher from the same web site. Even if they have their own individual speech writers. People like Bill Clinton & Donald Trump tend not to read the speeches they are given. They like to wing it. It usually gets them into trouble because what they say has not been subjected to editing. That is why they put Bill in back water cities where no one is paying any attention when he says that Obama Care is the "craziest thing in the world". http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/04/politics/bill-clinton-obamacare-craziest-thing/index.html

Now here's how you do pay for play. Not with donations to charity, but with disbursements from a charity.

Real Clear Politics tracked a series of donations Trump made through his foundation between 2011 and 2014 totaling at least $286,000 to right-leaning policy groups. The analysis found that timing of the donations lined up with endorsements from such groups or speaking invitations at conferences and events. These engagements gave him a stage and access to the voters he would later hope to court during his unconventional presidential campaign.

Using Trump Foundation dollars to bolster his own political career would violate self-dealing rules, which prevents use of charitable dollars for personal use or benefit. The candidate himself has not given to his own foundation since 2008, reports show, meaning those funds given to the conservative groups were donated by others who thought their money would be used for charity.

In related news, here is an amusing mashup of Pence claiming Donald has not said things, and Donald saying them: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/pence-kaine-debate-vice-president_us_57f3b692e4b0d0e1a9a9a98b
I listened to your link. Kaine said: Trump said: Putin was a GREAT leader. Then they quote Trump and Trump said Putin was VERY MUCH a leader. Kaine changed VERY MUCH to GREAT and this is the sort of bait and switch game he played during the whole debate and it was this sort of dishonesty and lack of integrity, honesty and truthfulness that cost him the debate. So Kaine spent the whole night playing the broken telephone game. Kaine is very much a typical Hillary appointee. We can expect most all of her people to be like this. They lack integrity and that is why they have so much of a problem getting their FBI clearance. https://schoolparties.wordpress.com/2013/09/01/15-phrases-for-the-telephone-game/

Trump reacted swiftly when Pence's debate performance threatened to overshadow him...

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...ald-trump-rally?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Facebook

Donald Trump took credit for his running mate’s performance in Tuesday’s vice-presidential debate during a rally in Nevada, claiming Mike Pence’s success proved Trump has good taste in people.

“Mike Pence did an incredible job and I’m getting a lot of credit, because that’s really my first so-called choice, that’s really my first hire, and I tell you, he’s a good one,” said Trump, a rally on Wednesday in Henderson, Nevada.

So what? I also said Pence was a good choice. That is what anyone that votes for Trump is hoping. That he makes good picks for a team. Hillary has done nothing her entire 30 year political career but make bad choices.

#Manypeoplearesaying that Trump's not all that pleased privately:

Meanwhile, Trump is courting the "Terminally Ill" vote:

http://europe.newsweek.com/trumps-urges-terminally-ill-hang-so-they-can-vote-him-506773

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump called on the terminally ill Wednesday to “hang out till November” so they can vote for him in the election against his rival Hillary Clinton.

The construction magnate was speaking at a rally in Nevada on the campaign trail ahead of the vote, billed as one of the most important in U.S. history.

“I don’t care how sick you are,” the Republican nominee said. “I don’t care if you just came back from the doctor and he gave you the worst possible prognosis, meaning it’s over. Doesn’t matter. Hang out till November 8. Get out and vote.”

Now it's getting sad...

Also, Trump's pattern of bribery is coming out:

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/trump-donations-state-attorney-general

Donald Trump donated about $140,000 to state attorneys general or candidates for the office between 2001 and 2003, some of whom were reviewing cases or decisions that would impact the real estate mogul's business, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.

Trump in particular donated to several attorneys general in New York going back to the 1980s, up to the current attorney general, Democrat Eric Schneiderman, according to records reviewed by the Wall Street Journal.

Yeah, I think it was clear that Pence won on demeanor. Not sure why Kaine felt called upon to be an attack dog.
I was perplexed too, but electoral-vote figured it out.

Remember that compilation of lies Pence told? That was the goal.

Kaine's attacks provoked clips that are already being used by the Clinton campaign to make ads against Trump. His goal was never to win. Winning a VP debate means little. 60 million less people saw the VP debate than the 1st presidential debate. What they WILL see is just the segments where Pence lied in attack ads. Kaine being snarky doesn't work for a retaliatory ad, there needs to be real meat that can be used.

When you look at it, Kaine was careful to avoid saying things that could be used as a soundbite, while provoking Pence to make at least a dozen. Kaine will essentially walk away unscathed despite the debate loss, and will provide valuable material to the campaign. It's brilliant when you think about it.

I've seen speculation that they were actually just chasing a list of "what? no, we never said that!" so they could mash it up with them saying exactly that.
