  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There's the thing about him claiming that Iran made a video of their $400m being returned, in order to embarrass America!

"They have a perfect tape, done by obviously a government camera," he explained, "and the tape is of the people taking the money off the plane, right? That means that in order to embarrass us further, Iran sent us the tapes, right?

"It's a military tape; it's a tape that was a perfect angle, nice and steady, nobody getting nervous because they're gonna be shot because they're shooting a picture of money pouring off a plane."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-36982965

Flip Flop! Now it isn't a perfect tape of people taking money, or money pouring off a plane in Iran, it's a plane in Geneva returning hostages!

Funny how they look alike.

And then he'll sue the media for libel.
"I didn't say it. I didn't say it folks. We all saw that speech, I never said that. Our media is so corrupt it's unbelievable. Why don't they talk about Crooked Hilary and her text mails? Let me tell ya folks, our media won't be recognizable once I'm President."

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Donald J. Trump belatedly endorsed the re-elections of Speaker Paul D. Ryan and Senators John McCain and Kelly Ayotte on Friday, moving to heal a deepening rift within the Republican Party touched off by Mr. Trump’s feud with the parents of a slain American soldier.

He endorsed McCain? Why? Trump likes soldiers who don't get captured. McCain is a Trump-described "loser" who is not a hero (or is? Who can keep track?), who has "done nothing for veterans."

That's a ringing endorsement from Trump, and clearly not at all demanded by the party.

Trump attacks freedom of the press. “With me, they’re not protected, because I’m not like other people..."
Well, actually he's not like other people in one important way - as a public figure, he has less protection against the media saying horrible, even untrue things about him, less protection but not no protection. Libel laws still apply - but the stories have to be horrible and untrue at the same time and the reporter/publication/media outlet has to know that it was untrue, and has to have put some effort into checking.

[Turnip said,]“One of the things I’m gonna do, and this is only gonna make it tougher for me, and I’ve never said this before, but one of the things I’m gonna do if I win… is I’m gonna open up our libel laws so when they write purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money. We’re gonna open up those libel laws."
How is that a change from what our libel law already is? Writing purposely negative, horrible and false stuff about people is already grounds for a suit.

This is an actual sentence from someone who does not have both oars in the water.

"Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes,
OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart
—you know, if you're a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if,
like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the
smartest people anywhere in the world—it's true!—but when you're a
conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that's
why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went
there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my
like credentials all the time, because we're a little disadvantaged—but
you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would
have been so easy, and it's not as important as these lives are (nuclear
is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the
power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of
what's going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?),
but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners—now it
used to be three, now it's four—but when it was three and even now, I
would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because,
you know, they don't, they haven't figured that the women are smarter
right now than the men, so, you know, it's gonna take them about
another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us."

So this is what happens when a narcissist channels Sarah Palin.

So Mega Mouth does it again:

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/08/09/politics/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-second-amendment/

Apparently it would be okay to assinate Hilary Clinton.

Typical liberal media. Listen, here's the quote:
"Hillary wants to abolish -- essentially abolish the Second Amendment. By the way, if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know,"

Now sure, that sounds like he's saying if she's elected, she gets to pick the judges and there is nothing anyone can do about that except gun owners, but what he really means is gun owners can vote. You see, if Hillary is elected, gun owners get to do a special take back election unless Hillary can get to the oval office and call seat safety.

You see, he isn't saying that gun owners can assassinate a sitting president over supreme court picks, he just doesn't understand how elections work.

The scary thing is, not only is that literally the excuse coming from the Trump camp, but his supporters are buying it.

I buy that. It makes total sense to me that he would confuse an election with freeze tag.
