As the price of food has continued to rise - over the past 7 yrs.,
our Produce has only risen from 25-cents/lb. to 33-cents/lb, Imagine that!

It gets better: the owners of this Market, have their employee's check each... piece of Fresh food by hand, be it something as small as a single raspberry , or all the little folds in broccoli.

And the owners work this way as well, every weekend, yes - again checking each... piece of Fresh food by hand. I know this, because I have watched them, while chatting with them.

Then, if there is so much as even a hint that a bruise may form, in a day or 2 it goes to the Discount-section.
Weekly in the cooler months, packaged items maybe a week old are available, like Dried fruits, grutons, etc.

Best of all, on the weekend FARM-delivery is too much to all fit on their dozens of Display-tables,
so the surplus *in mint-condition* also ends up there. At 6AM,
I bought peaches weighing over one lb. each, just dripping with juice, to go with Oatmeal.

Needless to say, shopping there weekly I am profoundly THANKFUL for all... these blessings...

And healthy Geraniums (bursting with huge flower buds) are $1 each,
so easy to grow, & propagate as Presents... I LOVE giving them, (also mini-roses):

We are soo very blessed... and I am GRATEFUL... I just can not say it, enough! - and
may you live this way as well...

Today I'm grateful that it's August again! I love this month more than any, I think. The air is heavily perfumed with the sweet scent of corn from the surrounding fields, and my garden is doing the best I've ever seen, despite the summer drought. I've had such abundance that I can bring the excess in to share with my residents, many quite elderly and missing the days long gone when they could garden for themselves.
