  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Actually, I spent some time thinking about
all the things I am thankful for,
and it was just overwhelming!
Bless God's abundant heart . . He really IS so good to us . .

Yes I agree wholeheartedly...

When you consider
that we, for the most part
so-easily accept / take for granted...
the many blessings we have, each, and every day
and when in cases of exceptional-need, He is STILL THERE !!!!
to support us, to guide us, to restore us
and to display to all whom, can, comprehend
His miraculous and merciful works
let us then, bear witness and give testament to Him for these works
and loving Praise and gratitude for His faithfulness
For He, IS, our Saviour and truly above all-men

For this amazing weekend that I will cherish for a very long time. My husband's siblings got together (along with the spouses and offspring) to divide up their parents' estate and household goods after both passed away within 8 months of each other. We've all heard horror stories of families splitting apart in bitter rancor in such circumstances, but it honestly could not have gone more peacefully and cooperatively! We began to comment as the days wore on how awed we were that with close to 30 people present (others could not be there physically, but via phone) there were VERY few items that were desired by more than one or two people, and even in those instances, there was amicable agreement over it. This has been a strong willed and often conflict-ridden group, yet everyone came away feeling pleased with the whole affair, and we ended the weekend with the siblings gathering for one last meal together and a time of tender, emotional sharing of lovely memories . . and even lots of laughter and closeness. It was all just so very beautiful . .
