Today and Tomorrow

JAS 4:13 Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." 16 As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17 Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.


What day will we give the Lord, the one we planed for Him or the one He planned for us?.

Think about this brothers and sisters, where have we "penciled" God into our day-planners, our to-do-lists?.

What can I promise for tomorrow?.

If I die today, my to-do-list will be forever undone, will God's plans work this way?.

Let God drive, He is the only One that actually knows where we are going.

Thank you Lord, that you would count me faithful by giving me today, and if it be Your Will, I promise my best to you. Amen

It’s so true we don’t have tomorrow in our hands, therefore it’s so important to do the best we can each day and to make time for God.

Hee hee hee.....I actually DO schedule "God time," as I call it, in my day planner!

Very good thought! I can definitely attest to this verse being true as well, even for events which give glory to God. While en route to the Billy Graham Metroplex Mission in this Sat, the radiator in my friend's car just up and broke! Nothing we could do about it, but I had been waiting soo long just to go see him on that night.... apparently God had other plans for me that day. So my friend, his mom and I went bowling instead. Quite a change from a Billy Graham mission I'd say. Instead of saying "yeah I'm definitely goin to the Billy Graham thing tomorrow" I should have been saying "Lord willing I will go." Great post by the way!

oh so true... I just have this day, i can go God's way or my way. Going God's way always works better. I have no control over the future, my past is finished and cannot be changed.
