Hi,
I'm wondering how you got a domain name. Did you pay for it? I had a website many years ago. This was when Prodigy allowed for a free one with their internet service.
I paid for Prodigy, and someone on the net sent me an email that he wanted to help me set up my own site for free. We did it together, but Prodigy shut down and there went the site I had. I don't want ads on it. Do you use PayPal to get the cost paid for the domain? I have only very recently joined that and have yet to use it.

Are we allowed to mention our sites anywhere on this forum?
I want to get one set back up and link to Messiah Mission India.

You can still make Wordpress sites and the advertising is minimal.
Godaddy has low cost names and reasonable hostiing and
site building costs. You pay each year to keep the URL and for
hosting costs to display your webpage. $10 - $20 pear year just to keep the name.

Odd domains might be cheaper, but a short named ".com" is best for
people to remember and find you. PaPal work reliably to pay for most
everything online.

People are drawn to a website by the amount of new content
that you constantly add to your website.

You don't need to pay for all that just to create one link.
There are 1000's of ways to create a link. I think the free
blogs here allow for commercial outgoing links...but not sure.
Your blog function here might work well and much cheaper.

I use namecheap.com for my commercial website.
And they have great tools to set up a website and people who will help you a lot.

Who is your domain name provider?
I don't know about godaddy, but with namecheap I used there tools and I had a lot of help from there support desk talking me through stuff.

Thank you so much! I just went to the GoDaddy site that you suggested. Looks like there is a lot to help me there. I'll try to think of a short name. I like that suggestion, too. I'm not even sure what it was last time. I remember my main title that was on the first page, but not much more than that. Appreciate your quick help to my questions.

What people sometimes do is register multiple, related domains and have the extra ones redirect to the main one they want to use. This is for branding purposes.

I went to chat support and something did not work when it tried to add my web hoster/them to cPanel. I did not get the email, as it failed. They will need to do in manually. The site can't be opened until a bit -and I get that email telling me welcome.
Must mention that they answer very quickly in the chat support section and are very nice.

I found them to be extremely helpful.
There were times I could not figure out the instructions they gave me, I am not tech-savvy, and they just went and did it for me.

I couldn't figure out Wordpress.
And i needed to have a lot more content added.
So I had somebody do it for me.
The "Add to card" buttons is what I had trouble with.
But, if you are not selling product as I am, I don't think you should have any problems.
