Dear catholics

Why do some of you feel that the catholic church has been given such a hard time over the years?

Is the "persecution" of catholics justified in any way?

Any justification regarding the Cathars, have we heard an apology from the catholic church regarding the burning of non catholics in the miidle ages..
(the US govornment have apologised for the treatment of the native indians and for the behaviour of custer.)
The british govornment have apologised for a number of mishaps over the years...
Why do the catholic church have a problem with accepting responsibility for anything, incliuding recent events.???

There have been a variety of symposia and studies in/from the Vatican around previous abuses.

Just as a side note, don't forget the Salem Witch Trials and the general deliciousness of Puritanism (which was all Protestant, remember).

Being Catholic (or being Protestant, or being Muslim, or being an atheist, or whatever) doesn't make a person evil, any more than it makes a person necessarily good.
