Sin is Iniquity found in everyone.
Its any type of rebellion, mental or physical, that exists as contrary to the Holiness of God.

The power of sin, is the Law.

The ONLY redemption from sin, and the only eternal forgiveness for all sin, is Jesus's Blood, and Death, as proven by His Resurrection.

He saves us from condemnation of the Law .... the Law remains.

The power of sin is choosing it over the Law. Without law there is lawlessness.

The power of sin, is a DOMINION.
If you are trying to keep the law, as your idea that "God wlll have me and keep me, if i keep the law and commandments", then this is faith in yourself, that God Rejects.

Christ on the Cross, is God offering you not the law, but Righteousness.

The born again are "Made Righteous", by God's blood, and the "Gift of Righteousness".

The law is not found there. The commandments are not found there, as they are a old covenant and Jesus is the New Covenant.

All that is found there is the CROSS of Christ.

You keep avoiding a couple questions.

Do you sin? Have you overcome any sin(s).... if so how so?

I have not avoided the questions.
I have written multiple Threads that answer them.
Go read them.

Before you do, learn what this means..

"In Christ". "One with God". and. ... 1 John 3:9

well it really helps if one replies to the specific post rather the thread in general so one does not have to "wade through" the entire posts ;o)

anyway my friend .... of course you have been able to overcome some of your sin .... this is the work of Christ in the saved person .... not sinning is keeping the law .... it is NOT your/our work it is the work of Christ in the believer .... when one receives Him .... the Holy Spirit helps us to overcome our sin (transgression of the Law) ... this is sanctification and continues over our lifetime while on earth.

There is NOTHING wrong with the law and Jesus helps us to keep it ... so ... when one does overcome their sin (via the Holy Spirit) be thankful and give glory to God for the work He is doing in you!

We are being confirmed into His image (no sin) and He will finish HIS work.

Phillippians 1:6
Berean Literal Bible
being persuaded of this very thing, that the One having begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.

The law remains and is forever good.

Romans 7:12
Berean Study Bible
So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous, and good.

AMEN! Thank you Jesus!

T.
If you do not see a connection, you could say so without lashing out at someone personally.
But that is, for a fact, what you do.
And if it is not fed?

Its a foolish pursuit to say to me that "you have overcome some of your sin", as if you know what you are talking about.
You dont know me.
So, never define me by you sinning and confessing, discipleship.

I dont have your walk.
You do.

Keep that in mind,

The words "even as" denotes a direct comparison in verse 3:7.

So how was Jesus righteous?

1John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Keep that in mind,

I know if one has asked Jesus into their heart (of which I believe you have) He will help them overcome their sin (transgression of the law). I didn't define you .... you did .... you identify yourself as Christian .... that is ... a follower of Christ.

My point of the questions (retorical) was for you to know the Law has not been done away with ... changed ... nor is it a curse (as you previously stated). The Law is Holy, Just and good. They define God's character ... of which .... we are being conformed into His image through the work of the Holy Spirit .... of which is His work He does over the course of our earthly lifetime.

If not for the law to be in place .... would mean there is no sin .... and that is not so ... and would not know what sin (transgression of the law) is.

Jesus paid our debt (we deserve eternal death) ... through Him we will indeed have eternal life .... eternal life without sin.

Why would i do that?
final answer.

1 John 1:8
Berean Study Bible
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

We all sin my friend .... but with the help of the Holy Spirit .... we will do better ;o)

You defined me as "overcoming some of my sin".
Thats not me.

Also, Paul said this.

"Christ always gives me the victory".

1.) Notice "always, and "victory".

See those?

That is this....>"as many as be PERFECT", and this...."The fullness of the Stature of Christ".

Now, if you listen to a dark light, they will tell you...."now friend, you have to understand....God didnt save you so that you can stop sinning.....He saved you so that you can run to 1 John 1:9, and keep on sinning so that you can keep on doing That, till you die".

Well, im not a Dark Light.
Notice my teaching about "the righteousness of God, in Christ" and "made righteous".

Im not a Berean.
Im a "Pauline Theology".
Read this verse......Same "John". 1 John 3:9

Find out why he tells one group they have sin, and he tells one group they "can't sin".

Figure that out., asap.
