  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It is just awesome to meet someone who overflows with Christ all of the time.
Have you ever met anyone like that?
I have.
Where I used to live, there was an older man who worked at the grocery store that I shopped at as a bagger. He would put the groceries in the sacks and help put them in the car.
He was old enough that he should have been retired.

Every single time I saw him, he was smiling and talking about how wonderful the Lord is.
He would usually say a simple one- liner like "I am blessed and doing my best!" or "Praise the Lord for another wonderful day!" or something.

His job was a simple job and he seemed to be a simple man.
Every once in a while I would give him a ministry tract or booklet and he would thank me happily praising the Lord.

I think what impressed me the most about him was that he always seemed to be truly happy and rejoicing in the Lord. He had a job where he was talking to people constantly and he was sharing his joy in the Lord with everyone he spoke to.
You don't see that too often, which is kind of sad.
Every time I saw that man he brought a smile to my face and turned my heart to the Lord.
I was always impressed and humbled to see him always overflowing with joy in the Lord.
Wouldn't this world be a wonderful place if all Christians were so filled with the joy of the Lord that we all shared Him simply and openly with everyone who we met like that?
:)

Yes, I've met people like that and they're always a blessing.
One day at my job, a customer said, "You've been such a blessing to me today." And I said, "But YOU were the blessing to me!" See, it just multiplies.
So yes, to answer your question, the world would be a better place if we always shared our joy as a gift. Let's keep working on that!

I have two friends that I can speak of right now that seem to "ooze" God out their pores... It's like everything in their life glows with God's touch. It is such an uplifting experience to just be with them and hear them speak.

I find that I am drawn to people like this.

YES! There is a lady I met at my church fairly recently and everything about her displays the love of Christ and the seriousness of her relationship with Him. I have seen her in some pretty gossippy environments and does NOT participate! But at the same time, manages to be really cool by just being her nice self! I have been in church a long time and this is such a refreshing feeling. Man I just want to hang out with her all the time, but she is very busy...

aw I agree it's such a blessing to meet people like that, who are just full of joy in the Lord! :D I know a girl at my university who is like this...even when things are going badly and everyone else is stressed out, she's always just trusting God and rejoicing in Him. She always makes me smile when I see her.
