To non-believers: What would you do if it were proven that God does exist?
Christians may chime in as well.
I would probably do the same thing you would do if God were proven to exist but that you were worshipping the wrong one; and this real God has been getting madder and madder each time he sees you ignoring him and praying to your fake one.
I would start by doing everything in my power to find out as much about this God as I can; not form the believers but from the God himself because what believers believe differs from person to person.
I would then attempt to build my life around the fact that this God does exist.

How does reading the Bible out loud allow one to hear the words of God audibly? If you did that, wouldn't you be hearing your own voice audibly? And you'd be hearing yourself reading the words of humans - as it was humans who wrote the Bible?Life is too easy a thing to be snuffed to be waiting on searching for God. Read the Bible NOW without learning "from the believers...because what believers believe differs from person to person". Get into it with the focus and drive you have said here, and THEN make your conclusion at the end of it. I heard a funny saying recently about people who want to hear the voice of God first before they're willing to believe. "If you want to hear the words of God audibly, pick up a bible and read it outloud." It is in there where He has spoken to you.

The bible was written by humans not by God. The Bible tells you what the humans who wrote it said, not what God said.It was a joke, obviously, which I said in my post. I said "jump", and you chose a cliff. It was basically saying that the revelation of God is there for you to see and read for yourself. You do not need God to come down from heaven, smack you in the face, and make you believe using that method. If you want to know what God says, it's right there.
The bible was written by humans not by God. The Bible tells you what the humans who wrote it said, not what God said.
Furthermore, if God can do anything, why would he need to have humans write a book for him?
All the resources of truth in the world are useless to you if you do not put any effort into it. I would begin with this, a scripture that is not immediately identified:
"For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."
Looking at this scripture, without googling where it comes from, ask yourself the following questions: When was it written? Who was it talking about? Is it in the New or Old Testaments? Was it written before or after the person it is talking about? Give your first impressions, and THEN research the text in greater detail. In this way you'll begin the process of truly exploring the claims the Bible makes.
If God can do anything, why would he need to have humans write a book for him?
God wrote the Bible? Really? Many Christians have told me that much of the Bible was written by humans. If that's how you'll end the search, that's your choice. The Bible says that scripture was inspired by God and given for humanity's education, salvation and edification. In other words, God wrote it. The next task is to see if the claims of the Bible are true or not.

It's a fairly simple question. If you don't know, then why not simply say so.There you go jumping off the cliff again, taking what is very simple and misunderstanding my meaning. I'll say this one last thing at least, the question "If God can do anything, why did He have humans write the Bible for Him?" doesn't strike me as sufficiently worth comforting yourself as you come near your death. It does nothing to examine the actual contents of the Bible and if what it says is true or false.
This is also the best way to tell if your hearing God should you hear Him in an audible voice, much like reading a book by a certian author, when you read somthing you just know it was done by him. In the same way when you hear God speak you know its Him because you have become very familiar with the way He speaksLife is too easy a thing to be snuffed to be waiting on searching for God. Once again, If God can do anything, why did He have humans write the Bible for Him?
I guess thats why He chose the place to be called Father, I don't need my son to do anything, I'm stronger, I'm smarter, and what ever I ask him to do, I can be sure that I could do it better myself.........but as a dad it brings me great joy watching him do a chore I ask him to do, even though I could get it done in half the time it took just to get him to do it, He's only 3, but to see his eye's light up when he accomplishes the job, is worth it all!If God can do anything, why would he need to have humans write a book for him?
As a dad, would it bring him great joy to watch a son he loved die because he failed to warn the son of an earthquake which would cause the son to get crushed to death?I guess thats why He chose the place to be called Father, I don't need my son to do anything, I'm stronger, I'm smarter, and what ever I ask him to do, I can be sure that I could do it better myself.........but as a dad it brings me great joy watching him do a chore I ask him to do, even though I could get it done in half the time it took just to get him to do it, He's only 3, but to see his eye's light up when he accomplishes the job, is worth it all!
(quote) "The answer is sufficient for me, and your only problem with it is that you fundamentally disbelieve the Bible."
(reply) But the question is not directed at you; it's directed at those of us who don't believe in your bible!
Also I would also like to see you quit "spinning" and answer the legitimate question "Cieza" asked you
Ken
It's all essentially irrelevant. If you claim that you read the Bible, and determined it was false... Well, that's your conclusion, and that's really the final part to it. Answering any other question really serves no purpose. You do not ask because you want the answer, but because you've made up your minds already. On the other hand, I started as an atheist, and made my way to God through searching the Bible. That's the final part for me too. So we see the great contradiction where two people can look at the same thing and have different conclusions. The question for the readers, however, is if they'll just stop at these inane assertions of yours, or if they'll search the Bible on their own without you or me (as you recommended) being the final word on it. The little questions that riddle this forum are empty, shallow, and devoid of any real sense. A real seeker wouldn't come here to be obnoxious. My recommendation is to go beyond the shallow, which is why I provided that scripture and those questions for the reader to pursue, to seek the truth. Not to satisfy the typical charade of "discussion" that takes place every day in forums like this one, which will continue long after you're gone, when some other atheist will ask the same question, thinking himself brilliant, and getting the same answers.
One must wonder why he's being so evasive. In other words; you ain't gonna answer the question. That's fine; I didn't think you would.
