  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It’s written:
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. (John 1:14) God Himself in the person of His Son Jesus Christ came to lead those who are willing to take up their cross and follow Him unto life.

He gave us the key to the kingdom revealing that we can give power to the spirit in heaven over the things on earth or we can give power to the things on earth and lose the power of heaven.

Matt. 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

And He showed us how to use this key to overcome the world, teaching us not to seek our needs and desires in the world, but instead to seek the kingdom knowing that all our needs and desires would be met by the spirit.

Matt. 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

Matt. 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

And to those who have obeyed and have overcome the world he promised:

To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (Revelation 2:7)

How much of this do we see being practiced today? A good faith message.
If you have faith, you may agree with all that the scripture says.
Yet there is such division in the church today, a spirit of compitition runs rampant
among those who are wise in there own eyes.
Humble repentance and confessing of faults is missing. Then we may rightly divide the word.
Looking forward to thoughts of others ................

He gave us the key to the kingdom revealing that we can give power to the spirit in heaven over the things on earth or we can give power to the things on earth and loose the power of heaven.

Matt. 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven....

If the above Scripture is read within its context, however, it should be viable to see how some might believe this was not a promise made to, and to be used by, all Christians, but was that which was bestowed upon the Apostles for establishing the doctrines and/or disciplinary actions of the early church.

And so as not to diminish the intended importance of this thread's theme:

...And to those who have obeyed and have overcome the world he promised:

To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (Revelation 2:7)
Truly, God does not insert in His Word promises of irrelevance, so if the Tree of Life is promised to the overcomers, this would be a meaningless statement if the Tree was also available to those who don't overcome. (On the other hand, many will quote from such as "...we are more than conquerors [AKA overcomers--see Strong's #3528, 5245]...." to claim that all who are born-again are overcomers and regardless of any further sanctification.) Hmmm.....

It’s written:
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)

First God formed “man of flesh and blood” and then God Himself in the person of His Son Jesus Christ came to lead the way for those who would be obedient and follow Him to the next step; “man of spirit.”

1 Cor. 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

“Man of flesh and blood” cannot enter the kingdom of God.

1 Cor. 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

The first resurrection is the mystery revealed by the apostle Paul. (1 Cor. chapter 15)

The moment when we shall be changed from “men of flesh and blood” to “men of spirit.” And also at that moment the dead in Christ shall rise.

1 Cor. 15:51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1 Cor. 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

The first resurrection is also mentioned; (Revelation 20:6)

Rev. 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Everything that have no part in the new heaven and the new earth shall be cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Rev. 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Rev. 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

God has shown us the way to life but it’s up to us to follow His instructions. He has also alerted us that the majority will choose the wrong way saying; “wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” (Matthew 7:13&14)

To those that heed His word and obeyed His instructions He promised;

He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. (Revelation 2:11)

It’s written:

“For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.” (Hebrews 8:7)

Our covenant with God is our understanding of our relationship with Him.

Under the old covenant we believed that it’s sin that separates us from Him but God Himself in the person of His Son Jesus Christ came to reveal a new covenant:

A new relationship of love and forgiveness between us and Him.

Heb. 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

He has revealed that He is unconditional love, for He is love, and that it’s not sin that separates us from Him.

The same way we are commanded to forgive seventy times seven our Father is no less forgiving.

Mark 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

He has also revealed that it’s “blaspheme against the Holy Ghost” that separates us from Him.

Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:

“Blaspheme against the Holy Ghost” is the hinderance to us finding the way to life. And to those who have obeyed Him and have removed this hinderance from their way He promised:

To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. (Rev. 2:17)

Those who are familiar with God’s word know that a new name means a new relationship with Him; as with Abram who became Abraham, and Jacob who became Israel and Saul who became Paul.

It’s written:

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. (Matthew 12:31-32)

God in the person of the Holy Ghost is a presence that is everywhere, within and without everything and everyone in the universe. An omnipresent spirit.

Paul said it this way:

Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

A Psalm of David says:

Ps. 139:6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Ps. 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

Ps. 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

And Jesus said of the day when we receive the revelation of the Holy Ghost.

John 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

How do we blaspheme against the Holy Ghost?

When we deny the Truth of the absolute presence of the Holy Ghost. Regardless of the appearance be it good of evil we must always know the Truth.

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Jesus taught even that brother who may appear ungodly, disagreeable or even downright evil we must know that the spirit of God dwells in him even if he doesn’t know this himself and we must know this for his sake as well as our own. To judge anything by the appearance and in the absence of Truth is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost.(Matthew 5:21-22KJV)

To those who obey this truth He promised:

And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star. (Revelation 2:26-28)
