So, Now I want to ask a question. Since Baha'is accept Mohommed as a Prophet, as well as Christ, what would you say to Christians who can't stomach the idea of Mohammed being in any way Divine? I guess, the only way I know how to say this, is how can Christians make peace with Mohammed and how can Muslims make peace with Christians? I am sure you might say, just become a Baha'i, but are there any scriptures or other evidence that can support a Christian case for Mohammed, without the Christians necessarily converting to Islam as it is today?
Thanks scratching my head for the question!
While some Christians as you may know became Baha'is and in doing so also must accept Muhammad as a Messenger of God and for us Muhammad was the Seal of the Age of Proiphecy that we feel ended in 1844 or 1260 AH and this began the Age of Fulfillment.
When studied objectively I think you will find that Muhammad is one of the most vilified persons in history and this goes back to the Crusades and centuries of warfare between Christians and Muslims and of course the prejjudices and vilification have recently been conjured up by the latest middle eastern turmoil.
But for Baha'is there are to us ways Christians and Muslims can be reconciled and some of my posts here have been directed at that... One of the first things Baha'is did in Persia was to encourage Muslims to read the Gospels and accept that they have not been corrupted or lost and that they do contain the teachings of Jesus and as Baha'is were travelling and becoming known in the West (Europe and America) we encouraged respect for and objective appraisals of the Qur'an.
Baha'i Writings have citations from both the Qur'an and the Gospels so they are for us at least reconciled in our Faith.
